Asia’s Biggest Loser looks SCARY

Asia weighed in its loser and  David Gurnani of Jakarta, Indonesia became the first Biggest Loser! The 25-year-old lost a total of 83kg, beating other finalists for a grand prize of $100,000 US and a brand new Renault car. The poor guy looks seriously sick since he lost the weight and what happened to his hair! Whats the point of losing all that weight if you end up looking worse than you did before. I can’t be happy for the guy, I feel too sorry for him.

Survivor’s Heroes are just plain stupid

Is it just me, or are the Heroes proving to be the dumbest tribe in Survivor’s history! Clearily the Heroes tribe is physically superior while the Villains tribe is smarter and more strategic, with that in mind, at tribal council tonight the Heroes vote out Tom and keep James with his leg injury. Duh!  Take the physical power out of James and you got one big fat zero, not a hero! JT had the swing vote tonight, he gets the dunce cap with the big ‘M’ on it for moron.  Colby came to the reward challenge strutting like a rooster, not wanting the sample of chocolate that Jeff Probst offered because he wanted to focus on his game and win the challenge.  We all know what happens to arogant show offs, they lose.

Next week, we are in for a little excitement when Russell threatens to take out Rob.  I think Russell is going to get his head handed to him if he tries it.

American Idol might force The Rolling Stones into retirement permanently!

Ryan Seacrest announced that American Idol’s top 12 finalists will be performing music of the Rolling Stones next week. Let’s hope the contestants smarten up and show some talent for this one, otherwise they might send the iconic British rock group right into retirement.  Just the thought of those pitchy, crackling voices taking on the Stones, yikes, I’m gong to set my VCR so I can fast forward the painful parts.

Nicolas Cage is being sued for breach of contract

The actor – who is rumoured to owe around $6 million in unpaid taxes – leased two vintage Rolls Royce cars in 2007 on a 60-month agreement, at a cost of over $10,000 a month.   However, he reportedly couldn’t afford the repayments and returned both vehicles and now the leasing company, Premier Financial Services, are suing him over breach of contract for the money they lost by selling the car wholesale.

The company wants $104,490.68 for one vehicle and $137,077.06 for the other.   Last October, the ‘National Treasure’ actor – who has been forced to put several of his properties on the market after failing to pay millions of dollars of tax – filed a lawsuit in October claiming Samuel Levin, his former business manager led him "down a path of financial ruin".   Levin- who was branded "incompetent" by the actor over his financial advice, which Cage claims has led him towards financial ruin – then filed a cross complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court against the star, insisting he was already in deep debt when he hired him in 2001.

In the complaint Levin insisted Cage refused to listen to his advice, resulting in him having an unpaid tax bill.   He said: "From the start of our Business Management Agreement he knew about his perilous financial situation and he knew he was behind on paying his taxes."   The business manager claimed he "warned" the actor he needed to earn a minimum of $30 million a year to support his lavish lifestyle and agreed a string of financial objectives which included selling "more than a dozen" of his cars and his $1.6 million comic book collection.

However, following a "string of hit films" Cage started spending again and by July 2008 he owned 15 homes – including two castles – four yachts, a Gulfstream jet, millions of dollars worth of jewellery and art and an island in the Bahamas.  Photo: Fame Picture

Martin Scorsese Is Working On A Frank Sinatra biopic

The ‘Shutter Island’ director admits he is still in the early stages of the film and has not yet cast anyone to play the ‘My Way’ singer.   He said: "We’re still working on the Sinatra script. It’s very hard because here is a man who changed the entire image of the Italian-American.  "And that’s just one thing. Along with his political work, civil rights, the Mob."

The filmmaker also says the film will likely be a combination of his classics ‘GoodFellas’ and ‘The Aviator’.   He told Shortlist magazine: "I was hoping it would be a good combination of the two. Yeah, because in structure I’d like it to be more like ‘GoodFellas’. But like ‘The Aviator’, it only deals with certain times in his life. We can’t go through the greatest hits of Sinatra’s life. We tried that already. Just can’t do it. "So the other way to go is to have three or four different Sinatra’s. Younger. Older. Middle-aged. Very old. You cut back and forth in time – and you do it through the music."   Photo: Fame Pictures

Pink Floyd Won The Court Case Over Their Record Company, EMI

The High Court in London today (11.03.10) ruled the legendary British psychedelic rock group’s record label are not allowed to sell their individual tracks over the internet and have ordered them to pay £40,000 in court costs.

The judge, Chancellor Sir Andrew Morritt, is still deciding how much the final settlement to the band will be.   The judge upheld a clause in the band’s contract that states their records should not be split up when they were sold, in order to "preserve the artistic integrity of the albums".

EMI had argued that online sales were separate to physical records, and weren’t covered in the band’s most recent contract, negotiated in 1993.
Speaking earlier this week, Elizabeth Jones QC, defending EMI, said the word "record" in the band’s contract: "Plainly applies to the physical thing – there is nothing to suggest it applies to online distribution".

The band’s lawyer, Robert Howe QC, disagreed and said that it would be a stange ruling if the band were able to control exactly how their music was sold as a physical product but there was "a free-for-all with no limitation on online distribution".   The royalties aspect of the case is unlikely to be publicly disclosed as EMI had earlier successfully applied to the court for the royalties aspect to be kept secret for reasons of "commercial confidentiality".

Victoria Beckham “Shocked & Upset” At The Death Of Her Ex-Boyfriend Corey Haim

The singer-turned-fashion designer briefly dated the ‘Lost Boys’ star in 1995, and was saddened to receive news of his shock death yesterday (10.03.10) of a suspected prescription drug overdose.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Victoria hadn’t had any contact with Corey for years but she was still shocked to learn of his death in such circumstances."   The overdose – which happened at the Los Angeles flat Corey was sharing with his mother while he helped her battle breast cancer – is thought to have been an accident, with four bottles of prescription drugs reportedly found near the spot Corey died.

The actor had previously openly admitted addiction to crack cocaine and prescription drugs.   Meanwhile Corey’s friend and co-star in ‘Lost Boys’, Corey Feldman, was stunned by the news because he saw his pal just days ago and he was upbeat.   He said: “He was fine. He was actually giving me some advice about something I was very upset about. He was being very positive."
Feldman also said that while he was touched by the outpouring of sentiment that has followed his friend’s death, he is also upset that more people didn’t support him while he was alive.
Speaking on US TV show ‘Larry King Live’ he said: “Where were all these people the last 10 years?   There were all these people to lend a handout, to reach out to him and say, ‘You’re a legend, you’re an amazingly talented wonderful person who’s never really gone out of his way to hurt anyone, other than himself?’   "In this entertainment industry, in Hollywood, we build people up as children, we put them on pedestals, and then, when we decide they’re not marketable anymore, we walk away from them."   Photo: Flynet Pictures

Anna Nicole Smith’s Life Being Turned Into An Opera – Huh!

The former Playboy model, who died in 2007 after an accidental overdose of prescription drugs aged 39, will be the focus of the production which will be shown at the Royal Opera House in London.

The opera will be entitled ‘Anna Nicole’ and has been written by composer Mark-Anthony Turnage, who created the controversial ‘Jerry Springer: The Opera’, based on the outspoken talk show host and his shocking guests.   It will debut at the esteemed venue on February 17, 2011, with the role of Anna played by Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek.

The Royal Opera House said the premiere would be "a major event in the UK arts calendar".   Details of the storyline have not been unveiled, but Anna Nicole – whose real name was Vickie Lynne Smith – led a colourful life which is likely to be included.

Starting as a stripper, she went on to marry oil baron J. Howard Marshall when he was 89 and she was 26 and went on to fight for his estate in the courts following his death.   The year before her own death, her 20-year-old son Daniel died of a drugs overdose, just three days after Anna Nicole gave birth to her second child, daughter Dannielynn.
