A “Thriller”- Era silk-Screened Portrait of Michael Jackson Created by Andy Warhol Sold for $812,500

A silk screen portrait of Michael Jackson by Andy Warhol, was exhibited at Christie’s evening auction on Tuesday, and sold for $812,500 thousand dollars to an anonymous collector.

The portrait of the King of pop music, was estimated to sell between 500-700 thousand dollars. This canvas is one of the versions of the portraits of Michael, which Time magazine subsequently issued on its cover.  And after attending a Michael Jackson concert in 1981, Andy Warhol described it as the most outstanding show, which he had ever seen.
