David Letterman has apologized for a joke he made on his show about former Vice-President candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter after coming under fire. David claims the joke was about Sarah Palin’s older daughter Britol and not her younger daughter Willow. Sarah and her husband Todd took offense at the joke which they felt was targeted at their underage daughter Willow (14 yrs old). Both Sarah & Todd slammed David for the joke.
David apologized for the joke and said "If that’s the misconception—that the joke was aimed at a 14-year-old "I would be upset myself." "I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke. It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault that it was misunderstood."
David apologized to both daughters, "and also to the Governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke. Source: CBS.com
