Howard Stern seeks Leverage in Negotiations With Sirius Satellite Radio

Can you imagine offering Howard Stern $500,000,000 dollars worth of compensation over 5 years? No, of course you can’t because he is obviously not worth it. But that is what Sirius Radio paid him for the past 5 years – of course nobody says that Sirius Radio knows how to operate a business never having shown a profitable quarter yet.

So Stern is threatening to retire rather take a pay cut – of course he’ll take a pay cut and keep working because he is in love with hearing his own voice. To think that Howard Stern could have anything important or interesting to say is laughable. And talk about ugly…   Photo: Fame Pictures

Wow…sounding a little jaded in your journalism. Here’s the math on Stern’s positive contribution: 6-8 million monthly subscribers joined Sirius (not XM) over the past 5 years because of Howard. Each pays $14.00 per month. Being conservative, let’s say Stern accounts for 5 million “monthly” listeners. That’s 70 million per month or 840 million per year. If he leaves, there goes at least 1/4 of XM-Sirius listeners. Satellite will be dead then!

You assume that 1/4 of the listeners would leave if Stern left – big
assumption! I assume more will join if Stern leaves! All your ‘math’
is based on your arbitrary assumptions rendering it useless.
