What Should Blake & Leighton Wear to the Oscars?

It’s pretty hard to score a ticket to the Academy Awards show (on March 7 this year!) unless you’re directly involved with a film nominated. While we doubt Blake Lively and Leighton Meester will actually be in the audience, we feel pretty confident they’ll be hitting the exclusive after parties, like the legendary Vanity Fair bash. Since the night is the most elegant of all nights in Hollywood, we combed through style.com’s Spring 2010 Ready to Wear collections because the GG girls have to be au courant! Plus, they should only wear couture if they’re presenting (like they did at the Emmys) or if they’re invited to the actual show. While the Golden Globes are all about short sexy dresses, the Oscar gowns are intended to be sweeping the floor—and the trail of paparazzi.

A few months ago, Blake Lively told New York magazine: “It would probably help if I had a stylist, but I don’t. I enjoy the process,” she said about picking out her own clothes. “I enjoy scrolling through the shows or fashion magazines and picking looks straight from the runway. I also like to think of things I haven’t done yet."

After combing the runway looks for her, we’ve decided that Blake should choose Versace.

Here are 3 reasons why:

1. Her two best red carpet looks so far were Versace: The 2009 Emmys and the 2009 Met Costume Institute Gala

2. The gowns are cut to flaunt what you got and Blake’s got the assets to do the dresses justice.

3. Versace dresses the biggest and best celebs around: Madonna, Beyonce, J.Lo, Demi Moore, Halle Berry. Blake should be hangin’ out with those big girls who always sizzle on the red carpet.

Our chocies for Leighton  after the jump

For Leighton, we’re drawn to the classiest brand in the biz: Oscar de la Renta.

We hope her stylist, Logan Horne, agrees!

Here are 3 reasons why:

1. It’s about time Leighton got a Vogue cover like Blake did last year. Picking one of editrix Anna Wintour’s favorite designers can only help the cause. (Anna luvs Oscar so much they even vacation together at his compound in the Dominican Republic.)

2. We think Leighton should focus on her acting career instead of trying to be a pop star. She’s got the acting chops to be a big movie star if she works it right. Top young movie stars who love Oscar: Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Jessica Biel. Leighton belongs in that group!

3. Besides, Oscar is the designer Blair Waldorf would choose for the big night out—after all, isn’t it called the Oscars?
