Murderer Phil Spector Sued By The Ronettes

Before Phil Spector became a paranoid weirdo with big hair and now an inmate doing time for murder he was one of the most brilliant and influential music producers – developing the “Wall of Sound” production technique.  His credits include such classic acts as The Crystals, The Ronettes, The Beatles, and The Ramones.

Well now Phil is being sued for over $150,000 in royalties and $1,000,000 in damages by his ex-wife Ronnie Greenfield (after whom the Ronettes were named), Darlene Love and the estates of two deceased Ronettes, Estelle Bennett and Nedra Talley Ross. They claim that Spector’s Phil Spector Records and Phillies Records have not made their required biannual royalties payments.

According to the lawsuit, Spector and his companies have withheld royalties from the Be My Baby hit makers even after they won an initial lawsuit in 2006.
