Imagine awarding or even considering the ugly creatures who populate Avatar for acting awards? How absurd. Yet the big men behind Avatar, James Cameron and Jon Landau, had the nerve to bitch about the fact that Zoe Saldana and James Worthington are not being considered for acting Oscars. It is questionable in my mind that the movie Avatar itself even be considered for Best Picture since it more like a video game than a motion picture. When the greedy people who think that technology makes for better entertainment start to whine that their actors are being ignored you know that the film industry is in serious decline. Anyway, I guess Bugs Bunny ought to complain that he never got a shot at an Oscar – or maybe we could award something posthumously to Fred Flintstone to help redress the slight to animated figures – after all the characters in Avatar are barely more than that.
