'Dancing With The Stars' Season 11 – Week Six Recap

Previously on Dancing With The Stars Florence Henderson & Corky Ballas  graciously bid the ballroom goodbye.   Tonight the ballroom is transformed into the glitter room for Rock week.

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani – dancing the paso doble to Queen’s Another One Bites The Dust.  Len said she is getting on his nerves she has potential but her dancing lacks the character in her dancing.   Bruno says Len is right she has to get to the next stage in the latin dancing.  Carrie Ann thinks she has really improved, but what she is lacking is the intention behind the movement.   Scores: Carrie Ann,  8 Len, 8  Bruno, 8  Total = 24.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer –  dancing the tango to Adam Lambert’s If I Had You.   Bruno said that he had obviously put a lot of work into it and it was much better.  Carrie Ann loved it and loved how he threw in the Kyle style.  Len said  that he worked hard and the dance was much better.  His dancing is performance driven.   Scores:  Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 7 Bruno, 8 Total: 23.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough  – dancing the paso doble to Pink’s  I Am A  Rock Star.   Carrie Ann says she is going downhill.  Len says because she went for it with such gusto she lost control.  Bruno said she lost the quality of movement.   Scores: Carrie Ann, 6 Len, 7 Bruno, 7 Total = 20.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke – dancing the tango to Van Halen’s Girl You Really Got Me Going.   Len is impressed with his hold and posture.  Bruno thinks he did the job.  Carrie Ann thought he did amazing but he has to watch  not to get so stern.  Scores: Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 8 Bruno, 8 Total = 24.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas  –  dancing the tango to Orianthi’s According to You .  Bruno said her best performance and technique up-to-date.  Carrie Ann said it was amazing.  Len says last week a chimp this week almost a champ.   Scores: Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 7 Bruno, 8 Total = 23. 

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya – dancing the paso doble to  Europe’s The Final Countdown.  Carrie Ann said the dance did not have a lot of polish it did not seem like he was  comfortable.  Len did not think it came off.  Bruno thought he worked very hard but it looked like he was doing karate instead of spanish dancing.   Scores: Carrie Ann, 6 Len, 6 Bruno, 6 Total =18.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy –  dancing the Tango to Bonnie Tyler’s Heroe.  Len says the dance was the dance of the night.  Bruno says the tango really rocked.  Carrie Ann says she had goose bumps but there were a few tiny mistakes.  Scores: Carrie Ann,  8 Len,  9 Bruno, 9 Total =  26.

The second part of the show is a Rock and Roll dance marathon all the couples compete at one time.  One tap on the shoulder and they are out.  They earn points depending on when they get eliminated.  The last couple eliminated gets 10 points.  In order of elimination from the dance marathon:

  1. Kurt & Anna – 4 point
  2. Bristol & Mark – 5 points
  3. Rick & Cheryl – 6 points
  4. Kyle & Lacey – 7 points
  5. Audrina & Tony – 8 points
  6. Jennifer & Derek – 9 points
  7. Brandy & Max – 10 points and they are the dance marathon champs
