Kings of Leon Has Announced Their New Album Release Date

Kings of Leon have revealed their new album is to be released on October 18 2010.  The band has also announced they will preview tracks from fifth studio LP ‘Come Around Sundown’ when they headline the V Festival in the UK later this month.  During their current North America tour, the rockers have been giving fans a glimpse of the 13-track follow up to ‘Only By The Night’ – which shot straight to the top of the UK album charts in 2009 – performing new tunes ‘Radioactive’, ‘Immortals’, ‘Southbound’ and ‘Mary’.

Drummer Nathan Followill recently said:

“The ones we’ve been playing on tour, man, they’ve been going over very well. A lot better than we thought they would. Some of them get better reactions than the older songs, which is bittersweet.  “It’s great to see that they’re digging the direction that we’re heading on this record. It’s fun to play them live, because not only are we kind of figuring them out ourselves because they were some of the last ones we recorded, but it’s also great to be able to throw something in there that you haven’t played a gazillion times.”

However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for the four-piece band, who have faced a backlash from fans after deciding to abandon a gig in Missouri last month after bassist Jared Followill was splattered with pigeon droppings.
