Michael was taken to hospital over the weekend after suffering chest pains and since his release he says he has bonded with his former spouse, who he has four children with, including troubled actress Lindsay Lohan.
He said: "I just got off the phone with Dina and we were crying to each other." According to doctors, it was no surprise Michael – who was with girlfriend Kate Major when he began experiencing the pains – had the medical emergency as he had been ill for three years.
He explained to Radar Online: "I’ve got either a blood clot or a blockage. They told me, ‘This is a stroke waiting to happen.’ "They wanted to put stents in my heart three years ago, but I never did anything about it. At the hospital they wanted to do it right there but my cardiologist in New York said was too invasive. I used to be on medication for this problem. I never told anyone. And then I stopped taking it, frankly because it made me gain weight and I’m such an a*shole about being in shape and exercising."
Michael and Dina have clashed over recent years, especially when it comes to the parenting of Lindsay, who has experienced drink and drug problems. Lindsay recently claimed that seeing Michael regularly speak publicly about her and her family had brought them closer together.
