National Recording Artists To Aid Families Of Fallen Police Officers

National recording artists, Soul Circus Cowboys, will perform on July 10th during a benefit at Big Belly Burgers in Brandon, Florida for the families of two Tampa fallen Police Officers.   On June 29, 2010, the hearts of Tampa Bay citizens were broken as two of Tampa’s finest in blue were killed in a routine traffic stop. Officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis, both 31, left behind families and loved ones along with an entire community mourning their loss.

Jeffrey’s wife is nine months pregnant and David has four sons.   Volunteers from The Tampa Chapter of the International Renegade Pigs Motorcycle Club, Inc. (organization that raises money to benefit police officers, firefighters and their children) will be in full force on Saturday to raise funds for the families of Kocab and Curtis.   Chuck VanSickle, President of the local chapter said, "Our Tampa chapter is made up of 100% cops. We are a bunch of cops helping cops."

VanSickle and his partner, Travis Wright (both with the Hillsborough County Motorcycle Division) will be in a dunk tank on Saturday to help the cause.   Soul Circus Cowboys will join other musicians in the Tampa Bay area to perform at the fund raiser for the families of Officer Jeffrey Kocab and Officer David Curtis.   Lead singer, Billy McKnight, of Soul Circus Cowboys stated, "This is the time for our community to not only commemorate the lives of two superior Police Officers, but also to provide financial support for their loved ones in need. We invite everyone to come out, enjoy some fellowship, listen to some great music and help out the families."

The tragedy hit close to home for the Soul Circus Cowboys as the band members are from the Tampa Bay area and have witnessed firsthand the outpouring of emotion from fellow residents. Although the band is now garnering national attention, its members still cherish their roots and their ties to the community.   In addition to lead singer, Billy McKnight, Soul Circus Cowboys now includes a stellar group of veteran musicians including, Johnny Chromatic (lead guitar), Terry Cole (lead guitar), Jason Alfano (drums), Chaz Dykes (bass) and Dewey Buxton (acoustic).
