Tony Curtis Is In “Stable” Condition

85-year-old actor Tony Curtis – who was hospitalised earlier this week after a suspected asthma attack while at an event to unveil his latest artwork in Nevada – is expected to be allowed home to convalesce at the beginning of next week.

The star’s manager Michael Einfeld told RadarOnline.com: “Tony is in the hospital and is going home after the weekend.”   The ‘Spartacus’ actor – who has been married five times and had an affair with tragic actress Marilyn Monroe – suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and was admitted to a local hospital for tests after having breathing difficulties.

A friend of the screen legend says his loved ones are delighted with his progress.   The pal said: “Tony was looking good on Tuesday (13.07.10). He had regained some of his colour and the family was hopeful of a full recovery.”   It has been revealed that Tony’s daughter Jamie Lee Curtis has not visited her father in hospital.   Tony – who now uses a wheelchair and can only walk short distances – nearly died when he contracted pneumonia in December 2006 and was in a coma for several days.
