MTV has joined forces with a conglomerate of networks to broadcast what will likely become the most massive international call to action in the wake of this tragedy. A team made up of the biggest names in entertainment has banded together to remind the global community that ‘talk doesn’t cook rice.’
Wyclef Jean and George Clooney will host the telethon, which will include live updates from Port-au-Prince via satellite by Anderson Cooper. The list of networks that will carry the show is staggering, and includes: ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT. It all begins Friday January 22nd at 8PM EST. This thing is going to literally take over prime time television for two hours—and rightfully so!
