Dancing With The Star contestant and NFL Pittsburgh Steelers star Hines Ward was a passenger in a car this morning at about 2AM when police pulled them over. When the police ran the plates on the car they found that it had been reported stolen and so they turned on their lights and pulled them over thinking they were the ones who had stolen the car.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ cops had ran the license plate and noticed the car had been reported stolen. We’re told police drew their weapons … and ordered both Hines and the female driver out of the car and placed them both in handcuffs.
The female driver then explained … SHE was the person who reported the car stolen in the first place after an incident involving a valet. But she got her car back … and forgot to tell cops to call off the alert.
Once the police verified the story they let Hines and the driver go and neither were arrested. I really like Hines he has been great on Dancing With the Stars this season. This incident must have really unnerved him but officers say he was very understand and cooperative. No surprise – he seems like such a gentleman!
