Alec Baldwin Says 'Sorry' To Passengers Of American Airlines Flight

In an article published on Huffington Post, Alec Baldwin issued a public apology to the other passengers onboard the now infamous American Airlines flight.

Baldwin claims: “It was never my intention to inconvenience anyone with my ‘issue’ with a certain flight attendant.” He goes on to reference the decline in the level of service on US air carriers and laments the superior service of yester year.

While the entire incident is laughable at best, Mr. Baldwin did say he was sorry and for that, I applaud him.  It takes a big person to say that they are sorry (even if that apology implies between the lines that maybe you were right all along).  It’s worth noting that the apology was directed at the passengers only, not American Airlines.

I guess if you go to a restaurant and you don’t like the service, you don’t tip, but what can you do if you don’t like the airline service that you’ve paid an arm and a leg for?

It appears that Alec’s public woes may not be entirely over.  Within his written apology, Baldwin referenced ground travel in a way that has Greyhound now up in arms. Here’s a bit of the apology written by Baldwin:

“Most of the flight attendants I have ever encountered still have some remnant of the old idea of service. Add that to the notion that in this day and age, many people have a lot of important work to do, by phone, and would like to do so till the last possible minute.  But there are many now who walk the aisles of an airplane with a whistle around their neck and a clipboard in their hands and they have made flying more of a Greyhound bus experience.”

A rep for the bus service told TMZ,  “I don’t know if he’s even been on one of our buses (it doesn’t sound like it), but there are about 17.6 million people who travel with us every year who I’m sure wouldn’t share [his] feelings.”

Well there you have it… I guess the good thing about travelling Greyhound, if Mr. Baldwin is considering it, is that you can play Words With Friends for the duration of your journey.   Food for thought.
