Check Out The New Web Series ‘Clutch’ Online Now

I have been fortunate enough to go behind the scenes of shooting for the new online web series, Clutch, created by filmmaker Jonathan Robbins. Clutch is an eight-part web series where Kylie, a streetwise pickpocket who survives on looks, charm and sneaky fingers, is on a quest for her place in the world. But her life changes drastically when she finds herself in the big leagues of organized crime.

After Robbins kept continuously hearing all the frustrations of his actress friends who struggled with the lack of strong female roles, he set out to start his own production company, MojoPro Films.   With the inspiration from his mother, a woman who at 60 was able to graduate with her second Masters Degree, and the support of his fellow actor colleagues, he made it his mandate to create opportunities for women to get to flex their acting muscles.

When asked to best describe the series, Jonathan says:

“Each episode of Clutch takes you into Kylie’s gritty world as she searches for something beyond mere survival. She and her boyfriend Matt had just started to get their life together— a nice apartment, a promise of forever. Never mind that it was cobbled together from the spoils of pick pocketing and drug-running. But this world is ripped apart when the mob comes for Matt’s $50,000. Now Kylie is running, searching, fighting and seeking a place where she is finally safe and loved. But this is the big-time. And it always catches up to you. Clutch is sex, drugs and survival of the shrewdest.”

Production on episode 5 is almost complete, with the show’s creative team gearing up for their appearance at Fan Expo on August 25-28 in Toronto.  To view the series online and for all other relevant info, go to www.clutchtheseries.com
