Two words: Nicolas Sparks. You know, the author responsible for many a night crying into my pillow desperately wanting a boy like Noah from The Notebook to say to me over and over, “If you’re a bird then I’m a bird”. Good god, I’m getting teary just thinking about it.
If you enjoy reading author Nicholas Sparks books, then you need to watch the preview for his latest book-turned-movie, The Lucky One. It stars Zac Efron, 24, who is mouth-watering scrumptious. I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of the High School Musical alum, but boy oh boy has he grown up into quite a strapping young fellow. I think I’m still wiping drool from my face. The movie also stars Taylor Shilling, and surprise surprise, it looks like another weeper. Typical Nicholas, typical.
Although I haven’t read the book, I will definitely partake in the movie – if only for the chance to see Zac’s washboard abs. Zac plays an ex-marine who completes 3 tours in Iraq, crediting his survival from a photo he found of a girl (enter Taylor). He sets out to find her … and well, the rest you’ll have to see for yourself. Check out the trailer, it may not be up there with The Notebook … but what really is. The Lucky One comes out April 20, 2012.
