JK Rowling Gives Us POTTERMORE!

Earlier this morning, JK Rowling unveiled her latest contribution to the Potter universe by announcing the arrival of the new website Pottermore.com.

Fans have been waiting a ridiculously long time to hear what this new site could possibly consist of and, after watching the video of her explanation, I still don’t exactly know what I’m waiting to sign up for in October.

FYI: I absolutely LOVE Rowling — she just seems like one of those soft, warm, cuddly geniuses that you could run up and hug. But her big-surprise-announcement-video? Sigh. It basically consisted of “Yay, I love my fans. Okay, bye.”

What I gleaned from the video (which has some pretty magical animations going on) is that the website will create some form of interactive experience between the fans and the already published books, allowing for a more in-depth experience — in other words, readers will discover new things about the Harry Potter Universe (some provided by Rowling herself) that can’t be found in the books themselves.

The description on the website reads:

Pottermore is a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books.

Oh, and it’s also a place where you can go buy the e-books (but, we all saw that one coming, didn’t we?).

Rowling’s announcement is above . . . let us know what you think. And if you have some magical powers to tell us more about what this freaking awesome site is about, we’d be eternally grateful for your comments below.
