Jack White and his ex-wife, Karen Elson are having a party to celebrate their sixth anniversary — and divorce! It’s so nice that some people can remain friends!

The former couple issued the following statement:

We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. An evening together in Nashville to reaffirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.

Per the invitation (above), “Please help us celebrate together this anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage with our best friends and animals.”

I’m just happy for the sake of their children that they are being such adults about the divorce. Divorce is hard enough on families, as it is. Good for them.

By the way, the party is at 8pm, but only for friends and no dead beats.
