Law & Order: SVU has lost one of my favorite characters Christopher Meloni. The good news is they will not kill him off so always a possibility he will come back. They will handle his departure over several weeks. Mariska Hargitay who plays Det. Olivia Benson will stay around but she will have a reduced role. Mariska recently said about the new season of Law & Order: SUV without Meloni “It’s been different this year.” With the show losing both Christopher and B.D. Wong it has a different feel this year.
The network is hoping that Mariska’s star power will carry the show. They also have back ADA Cabot (Stephanie March), ADA Michael Cutter (Linus Roache0), Casey Novak (Diane Neal) , Ice-T, and Richard Belzer. New detectives added to the cast are Det. Nick Amaro and Det. Amanda Rollins played by Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish.
