Lindsay Lohan's Problems Worsen As DA Launches Investigation

It looks like Lindsay Lohan’s problems are about to get even more serious.  The same day pictures emerged of the actress’ ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson in a passionate clinch with a mystery woman, news emerged that the DA is launching an investigation into the allegations that she attacked a Betty Ford employee.   Lindsay is already set to stand trial for her grand theft charge after turning down a plea deal.

In December rehab worker Dawn Holland filed a complaint against Lindsay, 24, alleging that the actress had assaulted during her court-ordered stay at the clinic, but Lindsay claims that Miss Holland touched her first.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses to find out who in fact was ‘the aggressor’ during the alleged attack, which apparently left Holland with a sprained arm.Investigators also want to know if the witnesses would cooperate with authorities if the case went to trial, but sources say the witnesses wouldn’t give a definitive answer.

The District Attorney’s office is investigating the incident despite that Miss Holland later retracted her allegations and withdrew her criminal complaint against Lohan.  A lawyer for the chemical dependency technician, Keith Davidson, said at the time: ‘Dawn will not continue to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution.’  Asked how his client would respond if she were to be subpoenaed by the court to give evidence, he replied: ‘She won’t.’

An incident report filed by Miss Holland after the December 12 incident claims that she was sent to give Lohan and her roommates a breathalyser test after a security guard reported them returning to the centre after curfew.
Holland says that during the heat of the argument, Lindsay ‘threw the phone … I threw up my left hand to block it and then she grabbed my right hand and tried to snatch the phone that I had up to my ear, then called me a “c*** b****”.’

She claims she told Lohan: ‘You know that I could press charges against you for putting your hands on me.  And she replied “Oh, you want money”.’  The Mean Girls star intends to fight a case filed over a $2,500 necklace she has been accused of stealing from a high-end store in Venice, California.

As the actress rejected the deal she will now be required to appear in court on April 22 for a preliminary hearing which will be conducted by a new judge, who will determine whether there is enough evidence for Lohan to stand trial on the felony grand theft charge.

If the judge rules Lohan should stand trial, the actress could immediately be sentenced for a probation violation and will be sent to jail for the fourth time.

To add to the family scandal, Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael is to be charged with domestic violence after being arrested in Los Angeles earlier this month after allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and preventing her from calling the police.

The 50-year-old was booked by police for false imprisonment, preventing the reporting of victimisation and inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant with his bail set at $200,000.

The Lohan clan is keeping the courts busy.
