Ozzy Osbourne To Sit In Judgement On British 'X Factor'

According to various sources Ozzy Osbourne is said to be joining X Factor’s judging panel and replacing Cheryl Cole who is moving to the US version of the show.

Following in his wife’s footsteps, the 62-year-old rocker is said to be taking a seat next to Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue in the upcoming series.

Despite Ozzy previously having said of X Factor – ‘It’s about killing music to make light entertainment.  It should be about music and talent but it’s not’ – it seems that he got an offer he couldn’t refuse.  Osbourne’s name is the latest being thrown around to join the panel after it was reported that Cheryl is set to leave the UK show for the US version.

A source claimed in The Sun that Ozzy is the Parachute singer’s replacement, and said: ‘Ozzy would be a controversial choice but he can really bring something different to the show, Sharon was a big hit and we think Ozzy can do well too.  ‘It would be a bold move for producers, as the former Black Sabbath star has previously criticised the show.’

His wife Sharon Osbourne was a judge in four of the show’s series, but left in 2007.  Sharon was famously caught up in a number of fights with Dannii Minogue during her stint on the ITV show, but formed a close friendship to Louis Walsh.  The speculation over Ozzy’s role on X Factor comes after the famous family made headlines last week with a $1.76 million US unpaid tax bill.

It was reported that they may lose their family mansion because of the bill but Sharon and Ozzy are said to have settled the dispute.
Sharon, 58, released a statement last week saying the matter has been closed and they have paid their outstanding debt to the Internal Revenue Service.

After released her statement, Sharon said she was on a mission to find out what prompted the US tax service to file a lien against the couple, which could have led to the government seizing their $12 million estate in Hidden Hills, California.
