The VMA's Survive Without Jersey Shore's Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino

The cast of “Jersey Shore” hit the black carpet at L.A.’s Nokia Theater without Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Castmates Pauly D, Snooki, Sammi Sweetheart, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Sammi Giancola, Vinny Guadagnino and Deena Nicole Cortes had to provide enough low-brow entertainment to compensate for Mike’s absence.

So where was he? Blame it on Hurricane Irene. The Situation’s absence was related to the hurricane that swept the East Coast over the weekend. The Sitch was the subject of plenty of pre-show drama before the VMAs aired, as he got in an odd fight with Ronnie in which he managed to knock himself out.

The rest of the cast boarded a private jet Saturday morning in Teterboro, NJ, just in time to avoid getting grounded by the Hurricane. “Mike got stuck due to the rain and couldn’t make the flight,” his rep said.

The Situation tweeted: “I wish I could be at the VMA’s but all flights were grounded because of the Hurricane…thanks again for always having my back! For all the Haters who are mad by what really happened, keep Hating!”

The VMA’s just were not the same without Mike of ‘Jersey Shore.’ No, we are kidding.
