Looks like the next album might be an upbeat one because pop sensation Adele is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki.
The songstress took to her website today to let her fans in on the happy news. “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx.”
Adele’s been seeing Simon since last summer and has been very open about her love. She told Vogue magazine, “He’s wonderful. And he’s proud of me, but he don’t care about what I do or what other people think. He looks after me. I don’t think I would have gotten through the recovery for my surgery if it hadn’t been for him.”
It doesn’t seem like the 24-year-old got knocked up by accident. Adele recently told People magazine that she was ready to walk away from music for a couple years and settle down. Her sophomore album, 21, is one of the top best-selling albums of all time. Clearly, she can rest on her laurels and have ‘dem babies (thank you very much Robert Pattinson). She told the magazine, “If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”
Congratulations to the happy couple! Now I can’t wait for her next album, but I hope all the songs aren’t peppy. I love the somber, depressing ones!
