Betty White, who once famously remarked that Facebook sounded like a ‘giant waste of time,’ joined Twitter this week, and with just a handful of Tweets, the 90-year-old managed to stir up some controversy!
First, there was her flirting with 37-year-old Ryan Seacrest. (Could a May-December romance possibly be in the works?)
“Hey @RyanSeacrest - my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we’re in the same time slot. I’ve always dreamed of sharing a night with you…” she wrote to the American Idol host.
Then, according to People.com, Betty reportedly pranked her Hot in Cleveland co-star Valerie Bertinelli by telling her that the Twitter account was fake!
“Just spoke with Betty and she is VERY upset!” wrote Valerie. “@BettyMWhite is NOT her. Don’t know how they got verified, but it is not Betty. Please RT!” Related: Betty White Was A Pot-Smoking Slut Claims Joan Rivers
However, Valerie retracted the comment later, explaining:
“It’s all a misunderstanding…@BettyMWhite IS Betty’s twitter account!”
She added: “I think @BettyMWhite pranked me but good! #blushing.”
Oh, Betty! We wish you were our grandmother.
