Ace Young, former American Idol contestant, proposed to Diana DeGarmo a day ago on LIVE television and thankfully she said yes! We DON’T like to see people get turned down on live television. Now, the Celeb World has reached that point in time where EVERYONE MUST SEE the ring that he presented to her. Well, thanks to those fabulous robots over at People Magazine, you can catch a glimpse of the giant sparkle-rock Ace managed to snatch up for his future-wife-to-be.
The ring is apparently a design by craftsman David Webb and is composed of 18-karat yellow gold, platinum, and diamond and features a 1-carat yellow center stone. The two side diamonds weigh .2 carats.
Ace told People: “A month ago, she said, ‘Gold needs to come back’. I was like, ‘I agree,’ so mental note. Her favorite thing is a sunflower and she loves yellow, so one of our dear friends [helped me] put together a ring that has a yellow diamond, a gold band and two smaller diamonds on the side that are clear, so it’s like a sunflower.”
Unfortunately, the ring looks nothing like a sunflower. Is my creative eye missing something here?
Young popped the question to DeGarmo on the May 23rd finale of American Idol. They first met when their lives intersected on the Broadway stage during the 2010 revival of Hair.
