Elise Testone Follows Colton Dixon and Takes “Cocky” Exit From American Idol

American Idol reject, 28-year old Elise Testone, was voted out last Thursday night and Hollie Cavanagh couldn’t’ be happier about it, since it was between the two of them at the bottom. Did you see the episode? If you missed it, you can read the full recap HERE.

The previous week, Colton Dixon took a very “cocky” exit and maybe it’s just the vibe back stage, but Elise has now shockingly done the exact same thing as Colton.  Elise, a New Jersey native, left Idol with her head held up relatively high, even though she couldn’t crack a smile.

But when Elise got off Idol property, she held nothing back about her Idol experience with the judges, she told OK! that the judges were not helpful one bit, “I’d like to say that they were, but I don’t really feel that way. I am sorry. I feel bad about it.”

How on earth can Elise feel that those feelings are justified? She goes on… “It was just different for me, I am 28, so I’m young, but I feel like I have had an even longer lifetime of work because of how much I have done. I have learned so much so some things that they said didn’t line up with things I have learned on my own, so I didn’t feel that it was always helpful. I am not saying I know everything, but for the most part, I don’t think that what they said always made sense. It’s hard to judge someone and tell them who they are, when you don’t even know who they are.”

Ok, so we know Elise has already opened for Snoop Dogg, Nappy Roots and Kevin Costner’s band Modern West. But has she amassed an estimated 55 million dollars in record sales worldwide? Nope, but Jennifer Lopez has. Did she ever receive a Grammy? Nope, but Randy Jackson did. Has she been performing for over 41 years? Nope, but Steven Tyler has.

Now, I’m left with one question, if Elise was so “famous” already, why did she have to audition for American Idol in the first place?  Personally, I see a big future for Elise and Colton, singing on cruise ships!

At least tell the truth. Your story is a pack of lies.

This is the epitome of shotty journalism. If you read the entire article she said that she felt a lot of the advice she got was either confusing or contradictory. Erika Van Pelt and countless other contestants have said the same thing…

The word is “shoddy” not shotty — just FYI.  Otherwise I agree with you.

I think Elisse had an amazing voice and I hope she gets a record label.  As for JLo, I have never heard her actually get up and just sing a song without all the smoke and mirrors.  Would love to see her just stand there and sing, it would be interesting to see her do a ballad.

To me, you are just as disillusioned as the so called
judges! Elise is a true talent and just because she speaks her word and mind
you see that as cocky. It is total b.s. that she’s off the show. You strike me
as a pop 40 lover, so go and celebrate that the musically uneducated Idol
voters have once again made their elitist point of view known and have dug yet
another scoop out of their fleeting last breath of a show! Hack Steven Tyler
should be full on ashamed of himself for the way he treated her throughout this
show, he’s a so-called rocker and did not have the sac to stick up for the
show’s one true rocker! I thought it was great when Elise pulled the mic away
from his gate mouth during her exit performance! These judges cannot seem to
crawl up the backsides of the pop 40 singers any further; for God’s sake I hope
    Phillip takes this title.

In my opinion Elise wasn’t that great. She wouldn’t of made it to the bottom 2.

Milli Vanilli sold records and won Grammys also…doesn’t make it good.

Now that’s revolting. How about telling the truth  ?

The judges were harder on Elise than on the others, I felt, and I didn’t think the comments in this article were necessarily cocky, just honest. I thought Elise was one of the best people on the show and am sorry to see her gone. She got criticized for doing the Jimi Hendrix song, yet Phillip got props from the judges for doing the Dave Matthews song I’d never heard of and which had no melody.  I get tired of the judges playing favorites and think that’s unfair to the contestants in general.  Things like Jennifer telling Phillip he needs to up his game so he’s in the finals.  How Hollie is still there is beyond me.  She has a good voice, but absolutely no stage presence or real performing ability.  There have been some great voices this year and I’m sorry that one of the more distinctive of them got the boot. Send Phillip home!  Please!

    Rosie,
The only cocky person is you. Elise was spot on. One song the judges said she was magnificent and the next song they say she has to connect more. They contradicted themselves constantly with their assessment of Elise. She is by far the better singer and records sales will support that once her single/album comes out. This article is sooo wrong. You should be fired for your bias.

Well Stevie Nicks said she would hire Elise in a minute and Stevie has sold more albums than all 3 judges combined!Did you miss or forget that? Now who is left on Idol? Elise was the only one that could have carried the American Idol torch right out of the box. Good luck with any of the contestants left.We wont here of them for some time to come
