Attending fancy, outrageous luncheons is just one of the many arduous, tiring, mind-numbing tasks actors like George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and Brad Pitt must suffer through each and every year. Hollywood’s greats gathered together yesterday for a classy meal honoring those actors and actresses who’ve been nominated for the highest-of-high honors, the Academy Award.

All the nominees were in attendance, including pals George Clooney and Brad Pitt, as well as the actor who’s nominated for a role that didn’t require him to say anything! Jean Dujardin showed up to express his gratitude for being nominated for The Artist. In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Jean spoke of his new-found fame and why he feels it’s important to sign autographs:

I enjoy watching people smile at me as I walk down the street. I always try to sign autographs even if sometimes you might be tired. It is my belief and experience that you feel very badly when you don’t stop to take a few minutes to express your gratitude that people appreciate your work.

Sounds like a nice guy, right?

Now, we can imagine how potentially dry and boring a luncheon like this can get; however, we have a feeling whoever was sitting at the Clooney-Pitt table was having a pretty good — maybe even uproarious — time. Look how much fun they were having.

George is of course nominated for Best Actor (“The Descendants”), as well as for Best Adapted Screenplay (“The Ides Of March”), which he helped write.
