Live Recap:

Blair is working like a fiend at the atelier because her Mom is landing at any time. She kicks out a peon for reading Dan’s latest Vanity Fair installment about her. Eleanor calls Blair into her office and reams her for the sex scandal associated with the line and doesn’t care that she’s got orders from Bloomies and Barneys.

Eleanor tells Blair she needs to get her dark, scheming, sexually inappropriate side in check. She threatens to remove her from running Waldorf Designs. She tells her that her deviant half has to go for good. Blair says it’s no problem – her Grace Kelly can defeat her Grace Jones no problem!

In Brooklyn, Ivy and Rufus check the RSVPs for the gallery opening and find no one who’s anyone is coming. Horrors!

At The Empire, Nate finds Chuck surfing security feeds for Lily’s apartment. Chuck sees an imprint on the envelope from a Sudanese bank. He sees that Bruce Kaplan dropped off the envelope – he says Nate should work Bruce and try to get him to reveal something.

Rufus finds out that Lily scheduled a benefit opposite his gallery opening to be a horrible person. Ivy said they need to get the event cancelled. Ivy calls the beneficiary of the benefit to offer a sizeable donation.

Dan’s hiding out with Lily. She says she’s happy about throwing the benefit. Dan makes Serena her morning custom coffee and he looks at the iPad release of his Blair chapter. She tells them they have each other. He tells her he finally got a VF check and can afford his own place. Serena offers to help him find a place. He tells her lower East Side and she says she knows he wants a doorman.

They hop on his new Vespa and are swarmed by paparazzi trying to get photos of Serena and Dan. GG reports that they look cozy on the scooter. Poor Serena – will Dan ever quit comparing her to the incomparable Blair or will he finally fall back in love with her like in their good old school days? I saw a leaked photo of them at an altar in finery, so maybe…

Serena compares him to Jason Bourne – yeah – Bourne rocks a Vespa… Someone snaps a photo of them and they decide they need to get off the streets. Dan says he knows a place and they zoom off at low Vespa-ish speed.

Nate’s bribing Bruce with Cristal in crystal and high price call girls. Nate asks him for information about hiding cash and Bruce demurs. Nate reveals he snatched something from Bruce’s jacket.

Eleanor tells her that not all of Blair’s shenanigans have been in bad form. Blair tries to usher Eleanor back to Paree and Eleanor declines. Mom tells her she has to make amends to the fashion community. She brings in W reporter (and Blair nemesis) Nelly Yuki.

Nate and Chuck are browsing Bruce’s phone – nice product placement. They find an entry “Bass traffic.”

Ivy and Rufus show up at Lily’s event and she offers to buy off all the artwork and cancel the party. The party planner says it’s too late to cancel and they need something on the walls. Rufus starts thinking and I bet he’s going to bring his artist’s canvases to Lily’s fancy party.

Serena and Dan are back at the site of their first date. Dan gets a GG post that says exactly where they are. He offers to distract them while she catches a cab, but Serena’s not ready to be ditched by Dan. He tells her it was nice and bails. S is not thrilled!

Nate and Chuck try to figure out what “traffic” means. Chuck finds a reference to the move Traffic where info was secreted behind a painting. Nate says he’ll search Lily’s place.

Blair threatens to blackmail Nelly if she doesn’t tell her Mom all is good between them. Nelly’s standing at W would be risked, but Nelly turns the tables and tells Eleanor that Blair tried to blackmail her. Blair says Nelly’s lying and Eleanor says that what Dan wrote was completely right about her – that she’s still the mean girl from high school. B begs for one more chance. Mom demotes her and takes the company back effective immediately!

Lily’s outraged that Rufus’ clients are getting shown at her party. The party planner says he thought she would be thrilled that the new arrangement would raise more money for the cause. Lily tops up her donation to make it more than Lily and Rufus’.

Blair confronts Dan and blames him for her getting demoted by her mother. She threatens him and he tells her that she’s trying to bully him into retracting an article about her being a bully. Frustrated, Blair calls Nelly and arranges to meet her at Lily’s benefit.

Nate’s probing artwork at Lily’s place but can’t find anything. Serena catches Nate being nosy and he says he’s writing a piece on Lily’s art collection. She’s re-reading the New Yorker story he wrote about her back in the day. Nate tells her she doesn’t need to rebound with Dan – that Dan almost cost him the Spectator. She joins Nate in Dan bashing and overhears. He was bringing her chocolate strawberries, but storms out.

Chuck pushes Nate to keep looking and he notices that a painting of a woman is missing. Lily sent it to the auction. Uh-oh. I think Bart’s got some secret info taped to the back. I can’t imagine he’ll be thrilled with her generosity. Lily says she thinks it’ll be the star of the auction and the party planner says they’ll auction it off live. I predict an epic Bart vs Chuck bidding war!

The art party’s in full swing. Ivy and Lily are having a glare off. The party planner/auctioneer thanks Ivy and Rufus for their generous donation. Lily glares and Ivy tells her to be careful because she paid good money to have her lines filled.

Ooh – they showed the painting – it’s the cool one of the woman’s face. Lily tells Ivy she’s an interloper and will never be her. Ivy slams her back and says she’s better – that Rufus told her so.

Blair apologizes to her mother with Nelly Yuki as witness so it will restore Waldorf Designs. Eleanor tells her that her dark side won’t dissipate overnight – that it’s been part of her a long time. She tells her Mom that she’s got no talent, only pretense. Blair says everything she’s got is from scheming – she says her Mom’s Mozart and she’s Salieri and she resigns from the company.

Chuck’s stuck in traffic 10 blocks from the auction and bids are only accepted in person. Lily drags Rufus off from clients. She tells Rufus she won’t have Ivy making a mockery of the auction bidding on things she can’t afford. The bidding for the Richard Phillips painting starts. Rufus reveals it’s CeCe’s money that Lola gave back to her. The bidding war is on. Chuck outbids both Lily and Ivy.

Serena apologizes profusely to Dan who rejects the notion that she still loves him. Dan said he only sent the Blair video to stop her marrying the wrong guy. Serena says she doesn’t really think he’s an egomaniac. Dan tells her they need to move on without each other. Conveniently the elevator is stuck with them in it.

The bidding is up to near one million and Lily keeps upbidding because she says the gypsy tramp won’t get anything. While Lily, Chuck and Ivy argue, Rufus scores the winning bid for his sweetie. Too late, Lily gets a text from Bart demanding she not sell the painting!! Ivy’s thrilled and rushes off with her sexy grey fox!

You know, I used to like Lily, but she’s just a grown version of a mean girl bully – she learned nothing from her house arrest! The only silver lining is that she lost good guy Rufus and is stuck with uber baddie Bart who will do her dirty any time now… I’m not liking Dan much either, but strangely Chuck has been a really good guy lately.

Lily apologizes to Ivy and offers to buy the painting back. She said she had no idea how much she would miss it until it’s gone. Ivy refuses to sell and says she’ll donate it to a museum far away. Lily wants to know what she wants and Ivy says she wants to make Lily feel like she’s always made them feel. She gives Rufus a hot kiss and strides off. Lily makes a crack that Rufus is still a kept man – Rufus says she’s brought it on herself. I can’t imagine why he doesn’t want to feel bad that he’s got a super hit, super rich, much younger girlfriend…

Dan and Serena are chatting frankly in the elevator. He tells her he didn’t want to face getting what he always wanted and losing it again. She asked what it was that he’s always wanted and it’s obviously her. She tells him she has to pretend he’s terrible to protect herself. Dan tells her he can be terrible. The elevator comes back to life and Serena invites him to come back to the apartment and have chocolate strawberries with her. He agrees. Love revisited for the umpteenth time is in the air!

Blair mopes up on the steps of MOMA and Nelly comes to thank her for the exclusive interview. Nelly says her mom told her Blair would peak in high school. Nelly tells her she’s done. Blair said all the girls wanted to be like her. Nelly says those days are done. Blair says thanks, but Nelly’s not sure why. Blair heads out and says she hopes it’s not too late. Hmm…

Chuck wants the painting and Ivy agrees he can have it for double what she paid. She was swayed when Chuck said taking down Bart would take down Lily. Damn, Ivy’s so much smarter than anyone gives her credit for. She beat Lily and is walking out of the party with an extra $1.3 million in her bank account!

I can’t wait to see what Chuck finds of Bart’s on the painting – I soo hope Bart can’t weasel out of this one. He’s such a Gordon Gekko!

Serena and Dan agree their fight was a good thing – that they’ve got a fresh start. She asks if he found a place and he tells her he can afford a hotel. S invites him to stay or says if he wants to leave, it’s okay. They do some awkward staring and then Dan moves in for a kiss.

Eleanor’s at the atelier drinking wine when Blair comes in – she tells her she made a mistake. Blair tells Eleanor that her dark side is her talent. She says her management style is off kilter, but her design skills are the dark side that’s her talent. She said it was fear of her that had other girls beckoning to dress like her. Blair says a teen line inspired by her Constance days is the way to go. Eleanor mulls over the idea of a uniform line.  Blair begs for one more chance.

Chuck and Nate stare at the crated painting, musing over what’s hidden on it. They flip the painting and find nothing. The envelope is gone! They realize someone took the backing off the painting and stole the envelope.

Ivy’s on the phone with Lola and tells her she’s got the silver bullet they were looking for – Ivy’s got the envelope! Lily’s on the phone apologizing to Bart – she says she didn’t know that’s where he hid the secret oil deal records.

Blair’s working on her B line with her mother. Chuck’s pondering where the smoking gun went. Dan and Serena are headed to some serious sack time! That’s it for tonight And only 4 episodes to go til the end!!! OMG GG fans!

Into the future, Nate is asked by reporters if he is going to be running for Mayor. He’d be the youngest if elected.

Henry Bass is the pride and joy of his family.

Everyone is gathered for Serena and Dan’s wedding. Jack is with Georgina. William is with Lily and Rufus with another woman.

And Gossip girl begins anew with the next generation.
