Heather Locklear is spending the night in hospital after a medical emergency at her California home. Her sister rang 911 Thursday afternoon saying she was afraid the actress was going to harm herself.
Captain Mike Aranda from the Ventura County Sheriff’s department told E! ‘Patrol Units, Fire and Ambulances responded to an emergency medical call. Once on scene, paramedics determined that she needed to be transported to a medical facility‘ There’s talk the 50 year old had mixed alcohol and prescription drugs leaving family very concerned about the state of her mental health.
Life has been tough for the former Melrose Place star in recent years. She was rushed to hospital in 2008 with talk she’d overdosed on pills and booze. It was later described as a false alarm. Then came a stint in a facility for anxiety and depression. There was also an arrest for driving under the influence of prescription drugs and an arrest on suspicion of a hit and run. No criminal charges were filed because there was ‘insufficient evidence‘ to determine who was driving the car at the time of the collision.
The last couple of months have seen the one time Dynasty pin-up split from former fiance Jack Wagner. The pair – who were together for several years – called it quits in November 2011, just months after announcing their engagement. Locklear has a teenage daughter Ava Sambora from her second marriage to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. They divorced in 2007.
Let’s hope Heather gets the help she needs and is soon on the road to recovery.
