It’s been revealed Heather Locklear secretly checked into rehab for her drinking late last year when her engagement to fellow actor Jack Wagner ended. But the former Melrose Place star didn’t take it seriously and left before completing the programme. The move leaving family and friends very concerned for the 50 year old’s health.
Heather and Jack had been together for several years before getting engaged. He loved her but was worried about her dependance on booze. He begged the actress to get help for alcohol addiction but the concern fell on deaf ears. So he eventually took the heartbreaking step of pulling the pin on their relationship. Ironically, that’s when the blonde beauty decided to get help.
There’s talk the mother of one has been on a private downward spiral for quite some time. An Insider says ‘Heather has been out of control for many years. Her drinking has caused her to fall out of many friendships. She doesn’t get out of bed most days. Jack kept her on the straight and narrow, but he couldn’t keep Heather sober. [He] begged her to go to rehab‘. So she finally did – but couldn’t handle it!
