Jermaine Paul WINS ‘The Voice’ Season 2

Jermaine Paul Eliminated From 'The Voice'

Jermaine Paul, the 33 year old who has been singing since he was twelve years old, from Harriman New York is the latest hopeful on ‘The Voice’ to WIN Season 2. Jermaine has had his share of success already having recorded background vocals for Mary J Blige, Joss Stone, Backstreet, Jaquar Wright and most recently, background singer for Alcia Keys.  Jermaine’s family alone makes up for a lot of his fan base, nine brothers and sisters in total.

Jermaine’s ‘R&B meets old soul’ kind of sound makes his being on Team Blake a little weird since Blake is all country – and he could have picked Cee-Lo as a coach, but he had shades on and Jermaine prefers to make a “connection.”

Jermaine belted out an awesome performance last week with “Open Arms” and Christina thought he “murdered the song”, Adam said he was no longer a background singer, Cee-Lo was still impressed and Blake, well he said “remember when Adam said ‘this is the guy to beat?” Did you see the performance? If you missed it, you can watch the video HERE.

Last week, Blake admitted that he no longer wanted to be a part of the ‘decision-making process’ anymore, “I don’t want to be a part of this decision-making process anymore. They’ve done everything they can do. I’ve done everything I can do. Now it’s up to America” and America spoke loud and clear, choosing Jermaine over Erin Willett by a huge margin.

One thing is for sure, with how well Jermaine did as a background singer for Alicia Keys and on ‘The Voice’, he will no doubt not have a hard time making it in the music industry. But, ‘background’ singer aside, its time for Jermaine to head into the next chapter, as a solo artist.
