Kim Kardashian is no stranger to public disapproval. This time, it is of Royal proportions. Kim’s current mission is to be an “ambassador for curvy women” far and wide. The clothing line overseen by Kim and her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian range from size 8-16 and contain over 100 pieces. Appealing to younger women with a limited budget, the line has been fairly successful on the ladies’ home turf.
While in London to promote the Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins stores, Kim reportedly sent Kate Middleton several dresses, in hopes that the fashion-forward Future Queen of England would start sporting the line. Kim is hoping that the clothing line will be as successful overseas as it has been in the US, and saw Duchess Kate as a way to reach the masses. She has also been gushing over Kate in the press recently saying that she is “Amazing” and that Kim would “Love to have lunch with her!”
Kim’s main squeeze Kanye West is apparently a fan of Kate too. Reports surfaced in September that Kanye was encouraging Kim to tailor her image more towards Kate’s elegant sophistication. Kanye is quite the entrepreneur himself, so it is possible that this latest publicity stunt originated with him.
It is doubtful that the Duchess, who is known for supporting British designers, would associate herself with this latest endeavour of world domination by the Kardashian clan. In fact, Kate is not allowed to endorse anyone or anything, as dictated by strict Royal Protocol. Royal Endorsement is a years-long process, and extremely coveted, but kudos to Kim for trying to grease the wheels with some free clothes.
Even if Duchess Kate could endorse designers on her own, would she really consider anything related with the Kardashians? Unlikely. While the Kardashian sisters are living their lives on TV and Twitter, sharing every ugly detail of their day-to-day, Kate is known for being fiercely private – or at least she was until her topless and bottomless French vacay. So until Kate starts flaunting her nipples about town, not merely while sunbathing, and televising her gynecology appointments, the Kardashian Krayzies better let this idea rest.
