The mere thought of what Lauren Scruggs went through on December 3rd sends shivers up my spine. What was meant to be a fun and exciting excursion looking at Christmas lights from a plane, turned into her worse nightmare.
Once the small plane had landed, the pilot kept the spinning propeller on in anticipation of taking on more passengers. The 23-year-old model and fashion editor stepped off the plane without realizing she was headed right into the propeller’s direction. What the pilot heard next were screams and shouts, and rushed out of the plane only to find Lauren on the ground.
Thankfully, Lauren is alive and her injuries could have been much worse. She sadly lost her left eye and left hand, but according to doctors her recovery has been amazing. She has been in an intensive therapy to relearn the basics, how to walk, talk, and even dress herself and with a positive attitude, is doing remarkably well.
The family, who is deeply religious, has been emphasizing prayer throughout Lauren’s difficult ordeal. Whether it is prayer, positive thoughts, or happy hoping – we all wish Lauren a speedy recovery.
