Secret Millionaire is back tonight with an all new season following successful business people, who will be giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars, for one week when they leave behind their lavish lifestyles with mansions, fast cars and luxury jets when they conceal their real identities and volunteer in some very poor and dangerous communities. The whole purpose of the show is to find out who is deserving of a great deal of money which will change their lives forever.
This season, Grammy award winning actor Blair Underwood will be narrating the show. I loved Blair most in “Dirty Sexy Money” but he is best known for his performances in “L.A. Law”.
In the season premiere, South California renowned artist Scott Jacobs and his 18-year-old daughter Alexa Jacobs spend six days east in Newark, NJ, a city in need. While there, father and daughter will be living on less than $75 between them and looking for people to help as they volunteer for charitable organizations. The question is, how much of their fortune will they gift to the community?
Scott Jacobs has not always lived in the lap of luxury, it was hard work and determination that enabled the then young artist to open his own art gallery at nineteen years old. This all translated into a successful business that continues to this day. Jacobs’ art now hangs in museums and private collections in more than 60 countries.
Ultimately these millionaires give away a great deal of money of their own, change lives forever while encouraging the rest of us to give back as well.
This really reminds me of the 2000 movie, “Pay It Forward” starring Kevin Spacey, Haley Joel Osment and Helen Hunt where a young boy tried to make the world a better place by teaching people to pay it forward. I loved that movie and Secret Millionaie has the same appeal, it just can’t help putting a smile on your face and making you feel good!
