Survivor Philippines Season 25 Finale Recap 12/16/12

Survivor Philippines Season 25 Finale Recap 12/16/12

Tonight on CBS SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES airs with a whole new episode called “Million Dollar Question.” On tonight’s episode we get to see who will win the 25th season. There is a million dollar prize on the line tonight. If you missed last week’s episode we have a full and detailed recap for you here!

On last week’s show the million-dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor was within reach for one of the five remaining castaways. Meanwhile, a few castaways made a final three deal while aboard a moving ship far from their fellow tribe-mates.  At tribal council Jeff asked Lisa what happened after Malcolm won immunity.   Lisa told Jeff that Abi started making her move and trying to save herself. Abi confirmed that she was on the chopping block. Jeff reminded everyone that Abi was universally detested and Abi told him she was the best.

Malcolm confirmed that he was considering who he can beat. Abi turned to him and said “choose me.” She told Malcolm that Denise was a huge threat – that Malcolm or Denise will win the game and Lisa and Skupin cannot win.  Abi went on to call Skupin an idiot and said that’s why he’s going to lose a million dollars.  When Jeff counted the votes. He called for the hidden immunity idol,  Malcolm didn’t play it!  When the votes were read: 1 for Denise, 1 for Abi and then another and another and Abi was gone. She smirked and wished them luck and took her torch to Jeff who told her the tribe had spoken and snuffed out her fire.  Ding, dong, the witch is dead.

On tonight’s show the final four survivors scramble to secure their place at the final Tribal Council. Meanwhile, a crucial reward challenge allows castaways to compete for a highly coveted advantage.

Finale episode: After 36 days only four survivors remain, Lisa, Skupin (Michael), Denise and Malcom. There is no reason to hold back now, it’s go big or go home at this point. Tonight we will find out who will win the million dollar prize and claim the title of sole survivor.

Getting rid of Abi is the best feeling for the remainder of the tribe, she sucked the life out of them and they couldn’t be happier that she is gone.

Tree Mail, “winning of the next challenge will make you worthy of the bragging”. The Reward Challenge is all about Dragons, definitely brings memories of Coach. The tribe mates have to race through an obstacle course to collect bags of puzzle pieces. The first person to complete the puzzle wins. The winner will get an advantage at the final immunity challenge.

Everyone is working really hard, they all want the advantage. Skupin is out of it and Lisa is too slow, looks like it is between Malcolm and Denise. Malcolm wins reward and an advantage at the final immunity challenge. This is the last thing the tribe needed, Malcolm is already a strong player, they didn’t need Malcolm with an advantage.

Denise is talking to Lisa and she is willing to turn on Malcolm which is really surprising at this point, but then again, not so much. Denise runs right to Skupin and tells him how she is delighted that Lisa agrees with her to get rid of Malcolm first. Meanwhile, Lisa and Skupin are the two making the decisions, they know Malcolm is unbeatable and need to take their first chance they see to get him out of the game.

Tree Mail, the tribe mates have to go pay their respect to their former tribe mates and make their way to the final Immunity Challenge.

It finally comes down to the final Immunity Challenge, each tribe mate has a wood cylinder and they have to balance a silver ball on it while holding it with wooden handles. The last person holding the ball, wins immunity. Malcolm has an advantage, if he drops the ball, he gets one free chance to put the ball back on and start again. A simple little backyard game could be worth a million dollars. Everybody looks really solid right now, it’s time for round two they have two add two more pieces of wood which will make this round more difficult. Malcolm drops his ball, he has a second chance. It’s time for the third round, Malcolm is not doing well, he is flirting with disaster with shaking hands. Malcolm is out of this challenge, no shot at immunity, his fate in this game remains in someone else’s hands. Denise also drops her ball, she is out.

Skupin and Lisa survive another round, two more blocks of wood are added, the game becomes more difficult and this could be the final round. Lisa drops her ball, Skupin wins immunity and gets a chance to finish what he started. Skupin cannot believe he did it, he is most proud that every said Malcolm was going to win and it wasn’t even close.

The obvious choice for Skupin is to get rid of Malcolm, but the warrior in him would love to have a head to head with him and beat him like a man. Meanwhile, Lisa is going to do whatever it takes for Malcolm not to be in the final three. There is only one spot left in the jury, who will be sitting in?

Tonight it is all about getting rid of the biggest threat and Malcolm, trying to save his butt, tells everyone that Denise is a bigger threat than he is. Jeff asks Lisa if she should take Malcolm to the end and she flat out says no. It’s time to vote, my guess is that Malcolm will be leaving and Skupin will be sitting with the women. First vote, Malcolm. Next vote Denise. Two votes Malcolm, three votes Malcolm and he is voted out. Malcolm turns to Denise and gives her is congratulations, he gets the last seat on the jury.

Skupin is not happy that Malcolm congratulated Denise winning the million dollars when the game is not over yet and he has a lot to say about it.

It is day 39, the sun is shining and the final three climbed up to the cliff to enjoy some morning brew and the view.

There is Tree Mail and it’s a feast for the final three, sausage, champagne, orange juice and lots of other delicious stuff.

Time for the final Tribal Council, the final three have done what fifteen people in this game couldn’t do, make it to the end. It’s all up to the jury, they get to decide. The final three get to make an opening statement, then the jury will address them.

Denise doesn’t make any apology for being in the final three, she has worked hard to get to where she is and prove that she had value. Essentially she is the only one to have survived every single Tribal Council.

Lisa feels that they have all outwitted and outplayed, it’s up to the jury now to decide. She played her own game, one mistake she made was not to follow her heart and play the game worthy of a game until after her brother visited the island.

Skupin is the only returning player in the end and nobody wanted them to progress as far as he did. He thinks he played his guts off and respected the core of the game.

Artis is up next, he doesn’t want to congratulate anyone for where they are now – he calls them all holier than though. (someone a little bitter)

Carter thinks people thought Lisa and Skupin were easy targets and congratulates them for playing a good game, he wants to know what Skupin’s thought was on his going home, Skupin tells him that there was no reason to keep him if they wanted a shot at the game.

Pete thinks Lisa hid behind not voting for some of the people, but still blames her because he thinks she knew about it anyway. Lisa tells him that she didn’t know. Pete wants to know why Denise thinks she deserves a million dollars, she tells him that she played a great social game.

RC wanted Lisa out from the beginning, but is not surprised that she is still there and proud that she made it this far. RC asks Skupin if he knew on day 19 that she was going home, he tells her no.

Malcolm loved Lisa’s opening speech then tells Denise not to lie, he wants to know why she thinks she deserves to win. Denise tells him that she is a therapist and uses that to listen to what people say and played the game every step of the way.

Jeff has bitterness, like everyone else – he wants to know what kind of person Skupin is and he says that he is a “make things happen” kind of guy because his head was always on the chopping block.

Abi is next and she says her heart is broken and doesn’t know who she is going to vote for, she wants to know why they think they deserve a million dollars. Lisa tells her that she was true to her alliance. Michael thinks he outwitted and outplayed everyone the most. Denise apologizes to Abi for demoralizing her, it was not her intention.

Penner congratulates everyone, then tells Denise that she once said she didn’t want to be known as a bitch, but she has. He goes on to tell Skupin that his name was not written down as much as his, so he has nothing to complain about. Penner calls Lisa his friend, she was close to him and wants to know if she wants to share her secret, but doesn’t give her time and spills it, he tells everyone that she was on Facts of Life and they all deserve to know before they vote.

Time to vote, RC votes for Lisa, Penner votes for Denise, Carter votes for Skupin and the rest, we will have to wait until Jeff reads them back in the states.

That was fast, Jeff is back and it is time to read the votes. First vote, Lisa. Second vote Denise. Third vote Skupin. Fourth vote Denise. Fifth vote Denise. Sixth vote Denise, she is the winner of Survivor Philippines.

Denise is a sex therapist in her normal life and was worried about her clientele because she was completely exposed. Skupin is surprised that he should have more votes because he played harder than anyone. Meanwhile, Lisa is pretty realistic although she would have liked to win the money, it was all worth it and learning about both sides of her was worth the million dollars.

Jeff calls Skupin Mr. Magoo, he never got so many calls about any player getting hurt as much as he did. Skupin calls them small little injuries that meant nothing in the scope of the game.

Jeff talks to Lisa about her being in Facts of Life and if she was afraid that people would see her as that image. Lisa tells him no, she was more concerned about her opening up and didn’t bring her faith into it because people wouldn’t understand. Jeff wants to know what the appeal about Survivor was in the first place and Lisa tells him that she was always a fan. Jeff calls Lisa’s emotional reunion with her brother Justice the most powerful reunion ever on the show.

Malcolm tells Jeff that all the adoration from his fans is really cool and people are really accepting on how he played his game. Jeff wants to know where he got his ability to do what he did on the show, Malcolm says it is just confidence. Malcolm talks about when he touched the whale shark that it was amazing.  Jeff asks if he would return to Survivor, if he could and he says yes.

Abi is called the villain from Jeff and wants to know if after watching the show if she took anything from it. She calls herself very abrasive and she wore her heart on her sleeve.

It’s time announce the Sprint player of the season, one player is going to win $100,000.00 and the votes were close between Malcolm and Lisa. The winner of the $100,000.00 is Lisa.

Jeff continues to interview the players and asks Artis if he was truly an angry person and he says no.

Time to take a look at the next 26th installment of Survivor, it is fan against favorites in Survivor Caramoan. Jeff presents Denise with her cheque and she says it’s life changing. It was a fabulous season, looking forward to the next one in 2013.

The end!
