LIVE RECAP STARTS NOW! YAY! KEEP REFRESHING FOR THE MOST UP-TO-DATE ACTION!

Here we go. . . .

The show opens and Scott is in the vet’s office. The doctor tells Scott that he needs to locate a book kept by the Argents, one that contains records, dates, descriptions of all the things they’ve seen–so they can discover what this awful new creature is that’s murdering everyone. The Argents come back to the vet’s office to examine the dead body.

Meanwhile, Stile’s is getting his car fixed. He goes to open the door and notices a whole bunch of slime on the handle . . . . not a good sign. The slime begins to paralyze him — his hands start to go numb. Stiles spots the lizard monster in the mechanic’s garage. The lizard monster spots Stiles. It growls at him but, ultimately, leaves him alone. It’s almost as if the monster knows him in some strange way.

Allison gets in her car. She notices the time–8:55. She’s startled by her creepy grandfather. He wants to talk. She’s supposed to be meeting Scott. We see Scott waiting in the woods for her. While she’s talking with him, he drops a book — I think it’s the book that Scott needs to find to discover the truth about what’s going on in the city. Allison’s grandfather wants her to trust him. He wants her to know that she will be put in uncomfortable circumstances, ones where her trust — in herself and in others — will be questioned. I REALLY DON’T LIKE THIS OLD DUDE. He’s a real mean-nasty!

Meanwhile, Stiles chats with his father at the scene of the crime. Stiles says he didn’t see anything.

Allison, really late for her date, rushes into the woods to meet Scott, but she sees a note: “Couldn’t wait, missed you.”

Scott picks up Stiles. Stiles tells Scott that the lizard monster definitely isn’t like a werewolf, but that he, for some reason, feels as if the creature recognized him . . . and spared his life.

Isaac and Erica are in a warehouse training with Derek. There’s some hardcore techno music playing in the background. Derek beats them all down and wants them to be unpredictable.

Lydia’s mom storms into her room. The mom wants her to go see the school counselor. She groans. When her mom pulls down the covers, there’s lots of blood on the sheets. Her knuckles are bloody. There’s a damaged mirror. She punched it, but she doesn’t remember doing so.

At school, Scott tells Stiles about the book he’s supposed to find. Stiles tells Scott that he’s looking for a bestiary, a compilation of information on the world’s mythical/legendary creatures.

Stiles devises a plan to get the bestiary from Allison’s grandfather. Allison says that she saw a book — and that it’s probably stored in his office. She says that she will need to get his keys.

Jackson gave the footage he recorded of himself that one night to a friend to edit. They discover that there’s an “edit point,” which means that, somehow, a large chunk of footage has been deleted. OMG! Is Jackson the lizard thing? We definitely know he’s something. After all, he did lift up that truck.

At the Lacrosse game, Allison, in a very smooth move, tells her grandfather that she’s cold. He gives her his jacket. Stealthily, she  gets his keys and passes them off to Stiles.

Stiles takes them and as he goes toward the school he notices Lydia sitting in her car crying. He stops to talk with her. He asks what is wrong and she says that he will think she’s crazy. He says he needs five minutes — to go steal the book — and that, after that, he will be back to talk with her. About anything she wants.

Stiles breaks into Allison’s grandfather’s office. He can’t find anything and, before long, he’s startled by someone. It’s Erica.

Boyd was somehow thrown into the Lacrosse game and turned out to be the star of the night. In his victory cheer, his eyes glow yellow.

Erica drags Stiles to the pool, where Derek waits for him. Derek asks Stiles about what he saw at the mechanic’s garage.

Meanwhile on the Lacrosse field . . . . Scott tells Boyd that he needs to get himself under control. Scott is hit very hard by a player. Scott’s bone breaks. It begins to heal . . . and Allison’s grandpa knows something is up.

As Stiles is getting questioned by Derek, the lizard monster appears and attacks them. Derek gets slashed by the paralytic talon. Derek falls into the pool. Stiles jumps in and saves him, keeping him afloat.

Meanwhile, Allison’s grandpa invites Scott back to their house for dinner. He suspects something unusual. When they bring him into the house, Allison’s father is shocked.

The Argents and Scott sit at the dinner table. Awkward silence. The grandpa asks Allison and Scott about their relationship.

Meanwhile, Derek and Stiles are still practically drowning in the pool being stalked by the lizard monster. Mr. Argent tells Scott to come into the kitchen to help with dessert. He warns him of what would happen if he was found out. Allison asks that she and Scott be excused to go “review some notes.” They walk upstairs and try to find the bestiary. They find a safe that contains a book . . . but it’s only a cookbook.

Meanwhile back at the pool . . . they discover that the lizard monster can’t swim. Stiles is keeping Derek alive. Stiles says that he has a plan, but Derek isn’t having it. Derek says that he needs him to survive. Stiles, in a moment of irrationality, lets Derek go. Paralyzed, Derek sinks.

Derek is sinking. Stiles swims to the edge. Stiles sees the lizard monster. He swims for the phone. He manages to get a call into Scott, but Scott says that he can’t talk right now. Stiles throws the phone into the water and dives down to rescue Derek.

Allison says that maybe the bestiary isn’t a book, that maybe it’s something else that he keeps close to him. Scott leaves in rush. He goes back to the school after realizing that the bestiary is stored on a USB drive.

Scott saves Stiles and Derek from drowning and confronts the lizard creature. The lizard creature stops attacking them after noticing it’s reflection — it flees. Derek tells Scott that the creature is a Ketema (unsure of spelling) — a shapeshifter just like them, but a shapeshifter who is completely confused by its own identity. Derek knows what the creature is only because of the interaction the creature had with the glass shard. Scott urges Derek that they must work together, because this creature is stronger and more dangerous then all of them combined. Derek won’t have it: he says he’s going to kill it next time he sees it.

Scott finds the bestiary on the flashdrive, but it’s in a language they can’t understand let alone read.

Scott pulls up to the hospital to pick up his mother. As he gets out of the car, Allison’s grandfather startles him and jabs a knife into his stomach. He says that he knows what he is and that, if he wants his mother to live, he will do a favor for him when he asks for it.

The episode ends with blood dripping from his stomach. Though healing, his spirits are shaken, and he’s more uncertain now than he’s ever been before. His mother asks how everything is and he tells her that “everything is fine.”

But everything is not fine for these characters, and we’ll have to wait till next week to find out who the Ketema is (my bets are on Lydia), what Jackson might possibly be (is he the Ketema?), and what Allison’s grandfather intends to do with Scott. Tune in with us next week when we watch the newest episode of TEEN WOLF!
