The Bachelorette Emily Maynard Hired For Next Season of Dancing with the Stars

The Bachelorette Emily Maynard Hired For The 16th Season of Dancing with the Stars

In a very predictable move by ABC television studios, we just received word that Emily Maynard, the most polarizing Bachelorette in the show’s history, will be dancing her way to fame and fortune on the upcoming 16th season of Dancing with the Stars. The winner of the 15th season of DWTS, Melissa Rycroft, was a popular contestant on the 13th season of The Bachelor, so bringing Emily Maynard into the mix is the easiest and most logical maneuver for the television company.

This reality television marriage is not a novel idea; many television studios have already used their most famous reality TV stars in several of their other tent-pole productions. The linking of two shows under the umbrella of a television company – Survivor and The Amazing Race (CBS), Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars (ABC) – shares the reality television fan bloc and consequently increases the viewership figures by astounding amounts.  CBS was one of the first to do so when they gave Survivors Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich a chance at winning The Amazing Race. They followed a similar route during a recent season of TAR when they gave Survivor Africa winner Ethan Zohn, and Survivor Amazon winner Jenna Morasca, a shot at winning the race. None of the four Survivor contestants were able to win any of their respective TAR seasons, but Survivor fans were able to see their favorite Survivor couples compete in a race around the world – a truly watershed moment in spin-off reality television casting.

According to RadarOnline, Emily Maynard knew about her stint on DWTS for the past six months, as she signed a dual contract before she was cast as The Bachelorette. “When she signed her contract to be on The Bachelorette, ABC also had her sign on to commit to doing Dancing with the Stars. She loves being in the limelight,” a source for Star magazine revealed. Unfortunately, Emily’s reality television run is based on solely on fame, nothing more and nothing less. An insider alleged, “Emily told me the real reason she wants to do the show is to help get herself her own talk show. She’s terrified of losing her fame. She loves being famous and has wanted it her entire life.

While Emily’s stint on The Bachelorette was filmed in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, the reality television star will have to move to California for the filming of DWTS. This move has already created a rift between Maynard and the parents of her deceased husband, Ricky Hendrick. A move to California would take her daughter, Josephine Riddick “Ricki” Hendrik, away from her grandparents, which would result in them seeing her much less than before. “Rick and Linda were horrified by the news that Emily wants to move to California. They can’t bear the thought of Ricki being that far away from them, she is the one thing that makes the pain of losing their son tolerable. They see so much of [their son] Ricky in their granddaughter, they love her to pieces and have become incredibly close to her — she keeps the memory of Ricky alive,” a source for RadarOnline revealed.

The price of fame is directly related to how much one is willing to sacrifice. And Maynard’s willingness to outbid the high rollers will soon see her not as a grieving, loving wife, but as a villainous fame whore who would stop at nothing to make her pointless dreams come true.  Oh how we will suffer watching Emily learn how to dance.
