On last week’s episode as all the True Blood factories were blow up, the acts on the human population of Bon Temps escalated.  The VLA tried to have Rev. Steve Newlin go on television and claim that the acts on the True Blood factories were done by terrorists, but no one was really buying it.  Jason found a mysterious velum and took it to the fairies to decode it.  Much to their surprise they found out that one of their ancestors promised their first born fae girl to a vampire.  That first born fae girl just happens to be Sookie, yikes!

Official HBO synopsis of next week’s episode:  Slipping further into religious fervor, Bill gives Jessica an order she loaths to carry out. Armed with a damning video of Russell and Steve, the military delivers an ultimatum to the Authority. Claude and Maurella take Sookie to meet the faerie elder, who may know something about an ancient family secret. Alcide reconnects with his father; Sam and Luna hitch a ride into the Authority.

On tonight’s show things are not looking good for Russell Edgington, come on we knew his rule of terror had to end soon. It looks like Russell and Steve’s party last week is coming back to haunt them. The military have a video of Russell and Steve Newlin eviscerating 22 fraternity brothers at the local fraternity.  The representative for the government goes to the Vampire Authority and lets them know if anything happens to him now or in the future, the video will be released to the public.  He also calls the Vampire Authority members on lying about the fact that Russell was dead.  Russell sure knows how to make enemies and it looks like Russell may be on his way out again!  The soldier lets the vamps know that if the video gores viral the human population is going to have an uprising against the vampires and it is basically all over but the crying for the vampires.

'True Blood' Recap: Season 5 Episode 11 'Sunset' 8/19/12

Are you convinced that Bill has gone over to the other side?  I am not sure, I just cannot see him wanting to completely change like this….  This week it looks like Lilith wants to suck Bill further in and asks him to drink her blood.  At one point in the preview for this week Bill tells Jessica that humans are for food and nothing else.  Lilith told Bill that, “Only one can lead us.”  I wonder what Salome is going to think about that?

'True Blood' Recap: Season 5 Episode 11 'Sunset' 8/19/12

In another preview for tonight’s episode Jessica comes to see Bill she is very worries about Jason.  She asks Bill if she can borrow his phone, because hers is not working in the Vampire Headquarters.   She wants to warn Jason because she had to stop Steve Newlin from going after him twice.  Now that Russell and Steve are on the lose she is afraid that he is going to do again.  Bill tells her she cannot use his phone.  Jessica cannot believe he said no and she lets Bill know Jason is out there and he is a sitting duck and Sookie is too.  He tells Jessica that part of accepting Lilith is distancing himself from human’s trivial matters.  Jessica cannot believe what he is saying.  At the end she asks Bill, “What if I made Jason a vampire?”

In another promo we see Russell trying to use Jason to lure Sookie out.  Remember Russell wants to walk in the sun and he is convinced Sookie is the key to that.  Of course Russell seems to forget that drinking faerie blood will only keep him walking in the light for a couple of moments at most.

Additionally, there are rumors that we are going to see some full frontal nudity on tonight’s episode.  Now who is that going to be Eric, Bill, Jason or maybe Alcide?

Tonight’s episode is going to be another bloody exciting one, which you won’t want to miss. So be sure to tune in for our live coverage of HBO’s True Blood — tonight at 9PM EST!  While you wait for our recap, hit the comments and let us know what you think of True Blood season 5, so far!

LIVE RECAP starts now!

The show opens up with Bill walking out of the elevator at the Authority. He hears a mysterious voice that says “Come to me.” He follows the voice into the Authority’s counsel chamber. He looks around but sees no one. The chamber that stores Lilith’s blood mysteriously opens and he goes inside. He doesn’t see anyone there. As he walks away, Lilith, in all her bloody glory, says, “Only one can lead us, and I choose you.” She tells him to drink the blood, drink all the blood. He doesn’t know what to do. He walks away, but then turns back around. She’s gone. Was she real? Was she just a hallucination? He sees a bloody hand print on the glass. Someone clearly opened the glass case that stores the ceremonial blood.

Nora has a flashback to the moment/hallucination when she saw Lilith destroy Godrick, her creator. Is she straying from Lilith’s path? Salome says that she’s worried about her, that she feels as if Nora has changed. However, Nora assures her that she’s no different.

Jessica is snooping around the Authority. She grabs a phone. She wants to call Jason. Bill walks in and, being the stupid Chosen One that he is, grabs the phone. He says she can’t call out. Jessica urges him to consider the lives of Jason and Sookie, but Bill just says that she needs to start looking at all of them — and all the residents of Bon Temps — as food. Jessica says, “What if I turn him into a vampire? To protect him.” Obviously, she doesn’t really want to turn Jason into a vampire — she just wants to get out of the Authority’s hold. She tries to manipulate Bill, but he calls her out on it, and now he’s making her actually go to Bon Temps to carry out the deed for real. He’s going to make her turn Jason into a vamp.

Eric paces back and forth in his room. Nora is walking down the hallway toward Eric. She stops, breathes deeply, and makes the move for Eric’s chambers. She stares at him, looks at him longingly, and the meet in the center of the room. They embrace and Nora looks like a child who has finally understood the error of her ways. They have sex and as they do she says, “Forgive me. Forgive me.” She realizes that all this Lilith stuff has all been nonsense, a veil pulled over her eyes, and she asks Eric what they’re going to do — how are they going to escape Salome’s and the Authority’s stronghold? He tells her that he’s going to get her out of there . . . and then he goes back for more sexy time.

Sookie and Jason discuss the scroll — the contract — they uncovered last episode. She’s obviously worried about her livelihood. Sookie escorts Jason out of the fairy club. Sookie stays behind where it’s safe . . . but is it? I have a funny feeling about this. She’s waiting to chat with the fairy elder about what her future might hold.

A government official — a general — enters the Vampire Authority. He asks for Roman. Bill says the Guardian is unavailable at the moment. He calls them out on the bombing of their True Blood factory. He says that the Pentagon is already discussing ways to completely eradicate vampires from the face of this world. The Authority says that they’ve joined the Sanguinista movement, that they are no longer eager to mainstream. The general pulls out a thumbdrive, which has footage of Russell and Rev. Newlin slaughtering an entire fraternity. He says that if anything happens, he will release that footage, which will undoubtedly cause the human population to rise up against vampires. The Authority continues to say that his threats are empty, but then the general says that the government was prepared for this retaliation from the vampire world. He says that they have weapons, powerful weapons, that could wipe all the vampires out easily. They don’t stand a chance. The general walks out of the chamber, but before he gets far, Eric speeds over to him and snaps his neck.

Jason pulls up in a cop car. He sees Jessica. Jessica is being supervised by two guards. She’s there to turn him. But she clearly doesn’t want to. She says to “trust her” and then she attacks his neck.

Salome says that Eric was an idiot for killing the general. Eric says that yes, he may have been a bit irrational, but he will go on a glamoring campaign to correct everything. Nora says that she will accompany him as well. Bill tells them to take a security detail.

Jessica is about to be buried in the ground with Jason, but it was all an act. Jason gets up and shoots both of the guards with a wooden bullet. Jessica warns him that Russell is after Sookie.

Pam tells Tara that it was a mistake to kill the new sheriff. Jessica storms into Fangtasia wanting Pam to hide her. Pam says no, that she’s not a halfway house for baby vamps. Jessica says she knows where Eric is. Pam is enticed, and tells Tara to go get an exra coffin.

Nora and Eric are being driven by a security detail, which they immediately kill. They get out of the car. Nora rips off her Lilith pendant.

Meanwhile, back at the vampire Authority, Sam and Luna look for Luna’s daughter.

Sookie is preparing to chat with the elder. Sookie is warned that the fairy elder is a bit loony because she’s so old and has traveled through so many worlds. She tells Sookie that there’s a reason she’s drawn to vampires and that she must hold onto light for as long as she can. This elder is hilarious. She is crazy. She was about to tell her who Warlow is, but then Jason demands to come into the club. Jason says that she’s in danger, that Russell is coming after her. The fairy elder hears that name and she get very angry. “Russell is ALIVE?” she says.

Meanwhile, back at Merlotte’s, Holly makes her boys apologize to Andy for putting up the naked video of him.

Alcide is chopping wood with his shirt off because it’s so warm outside. His father walks outside and they chat about what it means to be a pack master.

At the fairy strip club, Sookie tries to rally the fairies together to fight Russell. All the fairies are unsure about this, except for the fairy elder, who says that they must do this. She says, “We will help you, Sookie Stackhouse. We will help you.” Jason, once out in the field, says it’s game time.

At Merlotte’s, the fairy that Sheriff Andy had sex with in the field shows up. She’s pregnant, and says that it’s his duty to protect her.

Jessica and Pam chat about Bill and what’s happening to them. Pam tells them that the vamp Authority has formed a nest. Jessica asks Tara if she likes Pam. Tara says no, but it’s clear that she has feelings for her.

Rosalyn storms into Fangtasia. The Sheriff that Tara murdered was her progeny. Rosalyn questions Tara, asks her if she killed Elijah. Pam steps up and says that it was her. The authority takes her away, arrests her.

Bill sees Lilith. Lilith tells him to drink her, drink all of her. He’s just really messed up. She seems like an illusion, but when she leaves he leaves spots of blood on his lips.

Jason is patrolling Sookie’s deck. Someone lurks behind a bush. It’s Russell. He storms Jason and grabs his weapons. Russell glamors him. Jason is unable to contain his thoughts and tells him where all the fairies are.

Luna and Sam find Luna’s daugher, but they are caught in their human form. Sam volunteers to be taken to Bill as his food. Bill sees another member of the Authority, who also says that Lilith chose him. He kills him.

Pam is brought into the Authority, so is Jessica. Pam sees Sam being pulled through the hallway. Bill scolds Jessica for her actions. Jessica tells Bill that he’s crazy; Bill slaps her across the room. Meanwhile, Lilith is appearing to all the counselors telling them that they are the chosen ones.

Jason delivers Russell and Rev Newlin to the field where the fairy portal is. They go crazy as they try to find the fairies. The fairy elder says that plans have changed. She goes out there alone. She tries to banish Russell to the “realms beyond” but she misses and hits Jason instead. She tries to hit him again, but Russell is too fast and bites her. He drains her all the way, which kills her. Russell now has super powerful ancient fairy blood in his system. He can see the fairy club. He can see Sookie.

And . . . he’ll now be able to walk in daylight.
