Alec Baldwin Gets His Own Talk Show On MSNBC

Oh lord, we’ll now be forced to listen to Alec Baldwin‘s rants on a regular basis. It’s bad enough that we have to hear his thoughts in homophobic rants, interviews and random paparazzi attack videos, but every day?

According to E! Online, it’s been confirmed that Alec will be getting his own talk show with MSNBC. The network announced that Up Late With Alec Baldwin will begin Fridays at 10 PM from October. That means that every time you turn on NBC at night to watch the news, you’ll instead be listening to Alec’s voice drone on and on.

Obviously, Alec already has a strong existing relationship with NBC after 30 Rock, and he released a statement saying, “After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I’ve developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented, and engaging people in every imaginable field. I’m grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television.”

The president of NBC also released a statement saying, “I’ve been talking with Alec for a while and can’t wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC. He’s got such passion for ideas and what’s going on in the world. He’s going to be a great addition to our line-up.”

Well, it now makes sense why he decided to debut his new baby on People Magazine when he’s usually so cantankerous with the press and media. He knows he has to start playing nice if he wants his talk show to do well, but I’m already anticipating the day he loses his temper on TV and goes on one of his infamous rants.

What do you guys think about Alec Baldwin hosting a late night talk show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.  What’s up with giving a violent, homophobic idiot his own talk show – seriously?
