“All My Children” and “One Life to Live” Soap Operas Reborn Online Spring 2013

"All My Children" and "One Life to Live" Soap Operas Reborn Online Spring 2013

I think ABC soap fans are absolutely jumping for joy these past few weeks because the rumors of All My Children and One Life to Life coming back to life have turned to truth. Both long-running shows were canceled back in 2011 in spite of having huge, outspoken fan bases that rallied hard to save their shows. It was rumored that a deal to bring the shows online by a company called Prospect Park fell through in early 2012 leaving fans frustrated.

Fast forward a year and Prospect Park has indeed secured a deal to broadcast both All My Children and One Life to Live in 30 minute episodes broadcast each weekday.  The beloved soaps will be available on iTunes, Hulu and their internet home base of The Online Network. Prospect Intends to blend new faces and themes with some very familiar old faces and the current cast list must make those fans who have desperately missed their shows feel completely over the moon.

Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Tuc Watkins, Robert S. Woods, Kassie DePaiva, Jerry verDorn, Florencia Lozano, Melissa Archer, Hillary B. Smith, Kelley Missal, Josh Kelly and Andrew Trischitta are all already signed to return to OLTL.

Meanwhile AMC fans will welcome back Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan, Lindsay Hartley, Jordi Vilasuso, Jill Larson and Thorsten Kaye . Susan Lucci has not yet signed but is rumored to be at the very least negotiating a return to the role of Erica Kane.

If these shows really take off in an online format, do you think maybe some other old favorites will be dusted off and brought back to life by The Online Network? Can Another World be far behind?  Will you be tuning in this spring? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
