On tonight’s episode 9 of Dancing With The Stars the couples competed in two rounds of dance. For her first round Amber Riley danced a Quickstep for a dance style she had not previously performed. The couples will compete in two rounds of dance. In the first round, each couple will take on an individual dance in a style they have not previously performed including the Viennese Waltz, Tango, Charleston, Argentine Tango and Quickstep. In the second round, the couples take on a new challenge and dance with an eliminated pro or troupe member as part of dynamic trio. The trio dance routine will be in a style the celebrity has not yet performed including the Samba, Jive, Salsa, Paso Doble and Jazz. At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.
On last week’s show Amber was given a 28/30 for her Rumba routine. Carrie Anne said this about her performance, “When he touches you and rubs up your body it is awesome but I feel like it was not your best dance, you were sitting back just a hair, I want more.” If you missed any of last week’s performances, you can check out all the videos, right HERE.
Amber Riley and professional dancer Derek Hough: dancing a Salsa. Amber said this about her dances this week: “We have two dances next week: a quickstep and a salsa. Our salsa is a trio dance, so we got to pick a past professional dancer or a troupe dancer to join in and we chose the ever so talented Mark Ballas! This rehearsals are fun and full of energy and creative ideas!”
Judges comments: Len “Tonight is the beginning of the end, so I am hoping everyone is bringing out everything. I know you have an injury, your choreography was terrific however for me you were a little loose in your top lines.” Bruno “Your performance level is always up, but now as we are getting to the semi-finals, you need to fix your top line otherwise it spoils the beauty of your face.” Carrie Ann “The good news is that you set the standard for this competition, but you need to keep it up to that level.”
