I have full knowledge I’m going to get flak for what I’m about to say – I love Beyoncé’s new album but the majority of the music videos need to a complete overhaul. Sure, she tried something new in order to give each song its own feel and yet all it served to remind me was that only her music has matured. Her music videos on the other hand still has to serve as her mini platform. Where she gets to show off her body and let us, the audience, praise it. Not only has she’s been there and done that; she also needs to remember she’s getting older.
She’s in great shape and there is nothing bad that can be said about the body bootylicious into the dictionary. The problem is with that she puts so much emphasis on her body that when she ages; she’ll still be trying to act like she’s in the club. We’ve seen how this story ends. Look at Madonna if you’ve lost your crystal ball. Madonna is fit and until now it never bothered anyone her how far she would go onstage. Then they realized something… she’s over 50. Suddenly out of nowhere people weren’t as enthusiastic as they used to be. And please tell me you DON’T want to be Miley Cyrus?
That’s not what I want for Beyoncé. All of that talent of hers is magnetic in the way it draws everyone in. She shouldn’t waste that because of a personal lack of progression. Beyoncé came out with a new alter ego and she’s no different than anyone else Beyoncé’s ever created. It’s not prudish to say focus on the music over creating “artistic” music videos that have nothing special to them other than naked half dressed women giving provocative poses. And it is not slut shaming to say I neither have a penis or swing that way so put the breaks on selling sex.
Be a diva instead of anyone’s sad story! That’s all I ask.
