I feel so bad for Lea Michele. I know that sentiment’s been echoed by practically everyone the last few days, but I can’t imagine what she must be going through right now after Cory Monteith‘s death and cremation.
After the toxicology and autopsy results finally came in, her rep released another statement on her behalf, stating, “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
You know, one of the questions everyone’s been asking is why Lea wasn’t with Cory in Vancouver. Looking at the timeline, some fans were wondering if the duo split and that was what led Cory to relapse. But sources say that is not true, claiming that Cory was just in Vancouver visiting family and friends. As we all know, Lea and Cory’s family staged an intervention for him late March, and he voluntarily entered rehab in April. He was spotted vacationing in Antigua with Lea at the end of April, and everything seemed just fine between them. They were spotted a month later in Mexico, and they came back to LA by June to spend time with their Glee co-stars. When Cory flew to Vancouver for some family time, Lea was in Cabo San Lucas for some fun time with her friends. And then this happened.
Look, as far as them not being together, couples spend time apart. It’s normal, and healthy. But she must have truly had a lot of faith in him to let him go to Vancouver on his own – his old stomping grounds, and where he had a lot of drug connections – just a month after he got out of rehab. She can’t be clingy and controlling, I get that. And he was visiting family in Vancouver. It’s just, for once, I wish she had been overprotective and gone with him.
