Henry Cavill is a newly minted member of the A-list thanks to the success of Man of Steel and the legions of female fans that are gushing over him. He’s already set to headline his first post-Superman film in Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and it’ll be interesting to see how his career progresses from there.
However, has the fame already started affecting Henry? TMZ ran a segment on him yesterday where they discussed his behavior at the airport when he arrived back to LA, claiming that he didn’t sign for fans and that he definitely seemed more aloof than he’s been in the past. I don’t think we can judge based on that one incident, especially because it was at the airport and there were a lot of people there, and he could have been in a hurry.
What worries me more is his relationship with Gina Carano. I absolutely LOVE Henry and Gina together, and I know a lot of Henry’s fans don’t necessarily agree. But come on guys, she’s such an upgrade from his previous girlfriend [who allegedly beat horses and drove drunk]. And she’s hot, a kick-ass MMA fighter, and seems like a lovely person. What’s not to like? So she’s not the best actress in the world, but she’s just starting out. And for those who comment on her body size, give me a freaking break. She’s not a stick-thin Hollywood actress, but someone with actual curves. We should be celebrating the fact that one of Hollywood’s hottest actors clearly cares about more than size when it comes to his girlfriends.
Of course, reports are already starting to come in about how fame is starting to affect Henry’s relationship with Gina. The National Enquirer published a report with a source explaining that Henry and Gina are having a little trouble right now, adding, “Henry is really lapping up the fame and glory. He knew he would be getting some notice for ‘Man of Steel’ but his life is absolutely crazy right now. Gina is used to having Henry all to herself, and now she has to share him with the world. She really fears she’s going to be swept away by the rising tide of Henry’s career.”
Gina is supposedly worried about the fame ‘going to Henry’s head’, which I hope isn’t a valid worry. In all of his interviews and previous fan encounters, he’s seemed like a lovely guy and very grounded to boot. But we know what fame does to people in Hollywood.
But anyway, going back to Henry and Gina. So Henry’s back in LA and he was spotted at a Beverly Hills hotel… without Gina. Many people assumed that when Henry returned to LA, he would be reunited with Gina. Instead, he was spotted hanging out with a group of friends, and although there were unsubstantiated rumors that Henry was there with a woman, there is so far no evidence to confirm that.
Regardless, it’s starting to look like Henry and Gina might not be together anymore, especially because she’s rumored to be in Las Vegas right now. Of course, I’m holding out hope that Henry’s just been busy with meetings in Beverly Hills and hasn’t really had much time to spend with his girlfriend. Considering that Beverly Hills is a place for meetings and networking with industry people, he could have just been there for business/pleasure as opposed to just trolling for women like some people are assuming.
Anyway, Henry is still – to all intents and purposes – lovely to his fans [barring that once incident at LAX], and hopefully will remain that way. But when it comes to his girlfriends and relationships, I hope the guy realizes that he’s an A-list star now and that everything he does will be watched with eagle eyes.
