Ellen is putting makeup on getting ready to go to the hospital when Brian walks in. He asks her if she’s ready to do this. She’s still hesitant and he worries that Duncan has broken her spirit. Ellen says to calculate the risk but he says instead to calculate the risk of doing nothing. Brian lays out his plan to create a distraction so she and the kids can get away. She says she knows why he’s doing this. He says he’s not doing it because of the affair but because he loves his family and her.

Flashback to Ellen and Brian when they first looked at the house. She’s excited about the house but he thinks it’s too pricey. She says she doesn’t want to lose the place. Back to now and Ellen is cooking muffins pretending things are normal when Duncan walks in. She burns herself on the oven and says that she needs her med kit even though they took it away. He gets it for her and helps her tend to the burn. She puts a scalpel in her pocket when his back is turned.

She calls for Jake saying he’s going to be late and Duncan asks if she’s okay. She doesn’t respond. Brian asks Jake how he’s doing and he says “Awesome” (sarcastically). He apologizes for not giving him the money yesterday before he got beat up by Nico. He says he’s sorry again and admits he failed at protecting him. Jake walks away.

Ellen is in the car with the kids and she tells them that they’re going to escape but to keep their cool. She says to go to class like normal and leave to meet her at the bus station at 2 o’clock. Jake says they won’t be able to do it because of the GPS trackers in their backs. She pulls out the scalpel and says they have to cut them out.

At the hospital, Ellen looks at a small memorial to Angela and has a flashback. Angela tells her that she’s not supposed to say anything but she’s going to be the one operating on the President. Ellen says there’s another reason the process is taking so long and it’s because she wanted Angela on her surgical team. Angela is thrilled.

Back in the present, Jake and Morgan are making their plan to cut their trackers out before they leave school. Morgan tells him to meet her at the supply shed at 10:30. He asks why and she says because it’s isolated and no one will hear him if he screams.
Maria asks Kramer how he hurt himself and he lies and says he hurt it on a car door. She says, “Fine, if that’s how you want to play it.” Duncan walks in and she tells him he likes her. Duncan tells him that he’s going to see Nina in the hospital and that she’s doing better. Kramer tells him to tell her that he loves her.

Brian is at the bank to withdraw cash and passports for the escape. He has the passports but the banker tells him that his checking and savings accounts are frozen and is about to call her supervisor when he tells her it’s fine and he’ll work it out later. He asks for an envelope before he leaves. Kramer stops him on the way out of the bank and asks what he’s hiding under his jacket. He pulls the envelope out of Brian’s jacket and sees that it’s only papers. Brian tells him they’re loan documents and that it’s going to be a long, boring day.

Morgan is nearly caught stealing the supplies they need to remove the trackers from the school nurse’s supply closet but covers by saying her stomach is upset again and she just wanted something for it. The nurse says she was complaining about nausea last week as well and is concerned that Morgan may be pregnant. She tells Morgan that if she is pregnant she needs to be taking care of herself. Morgan denies it and speeds away.

Duncan goes to the hospital to see Nina and she is up and walking around.

Ellen calls Brian and he tells her the passports and tickets will be in his desk at his office. He tells her the bank froze their money but that he’ll take care of it. She’s worried about Duncan’s team tracking them and he says not to worry about it.

Duncan talks with Nina and tells her that Sawyer is doing well in school and shows her a picture that Sawyer drew. It’s a picture of a rock pile that she made and was very proud of. She’s about to cry, but tells Duncan that she’s going off of the chemo because it’s not helping and her cancer isn’t going away.

She wants to spend the time she has left with Sawyer, not rotting away in a hospital.

Brian takes some money from work and is trying to find some more when Samantha walks in on him. He tells her it’s because he doesn’t have his wallet and is going out to lunch with a client. He asks if she has any money on her and she hands him $300 from the petty cash box. He asks jokingly if it’s stealing if you own the company. She says to put it back tomorrow or she’s going to have to tell her boss – said with a smile on her face.

Archer calls Ellen to check up on her after her surgery. She looks at a picture of her and Brian on her desk and has another flashback. She’s telling him that he’ll never believe where she was today. She tells him she was at the White House and that she’s going to be the President’s doc. She notices Brian isn’t entirely happy about her getting the job because of the scrutiny that they will all be under the commitment that’s involved. He says they barely see her as it is.

Morgan lays out the supplies for her and Jake to cut out their GPS trackers. She’s frustrated that he hasn’t shown up yet and is about to cut her own out when she chickens out and goes to find Jake. She corners a friend of his and demands answers and he tells her that he went out behind the bleachers. She finds him smoking with some other kids and she yells at him saying they need to leave and now. He says it’s not what it looks like as she drags him away.

Brian asks Samantha to put a folder in his desk at another office location (it’s the passports and cash) and she says she’s very busy today and will do it on her way home. He tells her that he needs it done right now and gets a little pushy. He apologizes for being rude and they exchange some raunchy conversation and he makes dinner plans with her for that evening so she won’t suspect anything. They kiss.

Duncan tells Kramer the situation with Nina and that she wants to come home but it will make everything they’re working on pointless. Kramer says if he can talk her into marrying him, he can talk her into this. His boss walks up to him and welcomes him back telling him he’s reinstated and will get a commendation. He takes him to meet Agent Hoffman because he’s going to work on a missing person’s case. The missing person he’s investigating is Angela and the sketch he has of the suspect looks like Archer!

Morgan cuts out Jake’s tracker. She’s about to smash it when he stops her and says they’ll know something’s up if it stops transmitting. She has a hard time getting him to start on her but he finally does.

Archer walks in to the hospital to ask Ellen why she’s leaving the hospital. She says she wants to get a coffee. She actually snuck out earlier to pawn her wedding band for extra cash for their escape. He says since her surgery was “cancelled” she has to check in with him every fifteen minutes.

Archer leaves and Ellen calls Brian to tell him what happened. He’s angry she hocked her ring because he told her he would get the cash and she didn’t need to risk that. She’s tries to get him to call off the plan and to tell the kids to stop. Brian tells her that everything will be fine still and she just needs to stick the plan and not do anything on her own again. She’s still worried about Archer following her. Brian promises to make sure no one will follow them.

Jake and Morgan walk through the school as he tells her they have thirty minutes to meet Mom. He tells her why he was out behind the school with the stoner kids. One of them owes him money and called in a bomb threat for him. He tells that he’s not smoking weed, but selling it. The alarm goes off and the school ushers them all out and they are able to get away easily.

Angela’s mom, Beth, comes to the hospital to pick up Angela’s things. She tells Ellen she blames herself because of a fight they got into the last time they spoke when she told Angela that she was disappointed with her. Ellen says it’s not her fault and that Angela knew that Beth loved her no matter what. She tells Ellen to give her family a big hug when she gets home tonight.

Duncan goes to see Nina again. He tells her to stop packing her things and sit down. She tells him not to use his negotiator voice with her (jokingly). He tells her that he knows an experimental therapist that might be able to help her even though it’s risky and dangerous but it won’t work if she stops the chemo. He says he knows it will be difficult but to please do it for him and Sawyer. He pleads with her.

Brian is packing up lacrosse gear with Kramer watching him. He asks Kramer his name and when his guard is down, Brian hits him over the head with a lacrosse stick. They fight for a few seconds and Brian knocks him out after a brief struggle.
Jake and Morgan are at the bus station waiting for Ellen. Morgan tells her brother she’s scared but to give them some more time because the bus doesn’t leave until 2:45.

Ellen’s car peals out of the parking deck and Archer takes off after her while he calls Duncan to tell him that Ellen is running. Duncan tells him to lock it down. Archer and Duncan are on the phone and Duncan asks him for some good news. Archer says he’s right behind her and Duncan is on the way. He tells Archer to grab her the first chance he gets without drawing a lot of attention.

Duncan tries to call Kramer but can’t reach him – he then calls Maria. He tells her to find the kids now. Their GPS trackers say they’re on the football field. She goes to the school to look for them and doesn’t see the kids but finds the trackers in a baggie in a random student’s backpack.

Duncan calls Kramer again and he tells him that Brian jumped him and got away. Archer puts Ellen’s car off the road, gets out with his gun and opens the door to find Brian there instead of Ellen. Duncan pulls up and asks where Ellen is. He tells him she’s gone.
Ellen is at Brian’s other office looking in the desks for the cash and passports. She can’t find them. Samantha walks in and Ellen was scared for a second because she thought it might be Duncan or one of his crew. She says she guesses she’s there to drop the envelope off for Ellen and asks if they’re taking a trip and when they’re coming back. Samantha admits that she read the note inside that Brian wrote saying: “Will see you in Montreal. We are a team!!! Love, Brian.”

Ellen tells Samantha that it’s none of her business and that Brian told her about their affair. Samantha is shocked as Ellen leaves. Ellen gets to the train station and sees Jake and Morgan. She calls Brian to tell him she’s where she’s supposed to be and the kids are too. Duncan calls Ellen from Brian’s phone on video chat and she stupidly answers… He tells her he told her not to test him. She asks where Brian is and he turns the phone around so she can see him. He then shoots him in the stomach. He turns the phone back around and tells her that he’s alive but he doesn’t know how much longer he will be. He says it’s up to her. He hangs up and she looks back at Jake and Morgan with a terrified look on her face.

The End!
