The President is advised that there’s a lot of buzz because the nurse that messed up his medication committed suicide. They think he should jump ship on using a civilian doctor for his surgery. He refuses and wants to get it under control before his or Ellen’s reputation is tarnished.

Duncan is on the phone with his daughter Sawyer telling her that he misses her and to take care of herself. Ellen and her family finish breakfast and Brian asks if Ellen is all right. She says no because she can’t stop thinking about Angela’s death. She whispers to Brian to look into Duncan’s daughter and tells him her name is Sawyer.

Duncan asks Archer how things went with the nurse. He said it was fine. Duncan calls his dad to ask why he’s not at their meeting spot. He tells Duncan that he didn’t send him a message and almost gets picked off by a sniper but realizes at the last minute that he was being set up and dodges a literal bullet. He thinks there’s a hit out on him because Ellen won’t be the President’s doctor anymore. He thinks they could all be dead meat unless the president changes his mind.

He calls into the Chief of Staff and says his name is Rob Halsey. The Chief refuses the call then calls someone else and says he thought Duncan was supposed to be dead!

Ellen walks into the hospital and Agent Hoffman asks her for a word. He says that he knows she and Angela were close. He asks why she was at Angela’s house the night before. Ellen says she was supposed to meet her for a drink at a bar last night and she was concerned for Angela because of everything that happened with the President.

She tells him that Angela didn’t know if she made a mistake or not but didn’t know if Angela could deal with the consequences if she had. Hoffman says Ellen shouldn’t blame herself and that she couldn’t have possibly known.

Kramer is making sure that the kids are ready for school. Jake asks him if he looked for the money in Brian and Ellen’s bathroom and he says no. Jake tries to say he’s not going to school but Kramer shoves him out the door.

Archer and Maria are talking about the op and she’s asking if it’s all worth it. Archer tells her Duncan is a good man. He tells her about a commando raid where he was trapped and how Duncan fought his way in and saved his life. Maria says it’s impressive but that she still needs to get paid.

Boyd comes up to Morgan when she’s walking into school. He asks her what’s going on and why she’s acting strange. He asks if there’s someone else. She finally admits that she’s pregnant and she runs into school.

Duncan is watching a woman with her young child and snapping pictures of them.

Brian is at work acting like things are normal. He uses one of the secretary’s computers to research Duncan’s daughter.

The Chief of Staff gets in his car and Duncan puts a gun to his head. He tells him the bullet from the sniper missed his head by five inches. He tries to play dumb but Duncan tells him that they’re both going to find a way out of this or his friends are going to kill him and then they’re going to kill his wife. He shows him the picture that he took before of the woman and child (the Chief’s family) and threatens them. The Chief makes a phone call and gets the kill order on Duncan suspended. They agree they will try to make the deal with Ellen work.

[10:49:24 PM] Rachel Rowan: The Chief tells Duncan that they’re both out on a limb here because he just lied to some very powerful people. Duncan says he would have been dead anyways so it doesn’t matter.

Ellen is in a patient’s room and makes a call to Brian. Samantha is telling Brian that she found a hotel for them for the weekend – he forgot they had discussed going away together. He’s told Ellen is on the line for him and Samantha says that he should take the call. Brian tells Ellen that he found Sawyer’s school – Holly Oak – and she says she’s going so see Sawyer.

Creasy meets with a man and tells him that the President is changing doctors and the guy asks if the President is concerned about the political consequences. Creasy tells him that he’s just trying to protect the interests of the American people.

Archer keeps an eye on Ellen on his tablet via the hospital security cameras. She goes into the surgeon’s locker room. A fellow doc tells her he’s surprised to see her after what happened to Angela. She says work is a welcome distraction. She stows some stuff in her locker, puts on scrubs and a surgical mask to hide her face and sneaks out. Archer can’t find her on the cameras. Ellen gets in a car and stops when someone knocks on the window. She panics but it’s only a random dude asking if she knows where to get parking validated.

Jake tells his dad that he needs the money back that he took from him. He says he owes it to someone but his Dad tells him no – not with everything that’s going on right now.

Ellen gets to the Holly Oak school and is looking for Sawyer.

Maria and Kramer are watching Jake as he walks through the parking lot. An SUV pulls up and cuts him off. Niko and two of his cronies get out and he ask where Jake has been. Jake says he’s sorry that he doesn’t have the money because someone stole it. He asks for a few more days. Niko sarcastically asks him how long he needs – a week or a month. Jake relaxes and says a week would be great. Then Niko sucker punches him in the face and knocks him to the ground and then kicks him.

Kramer starts to get out of the car tohelp, but Maria clicks the locks and tells him it’s not their problem. Nike continues to kick Jake until he’s barely moving.

Ellen is in the school and a woman asks her is she’s a parent. Ellen says that she is an aunt and that Sawyer is her niece. She asks for help finding her and the woman leads her to her class. Ellen calls out Sawyer’s name and when Sawyer walks over to her, Ellen tells her she’s a friend of her fathers’.

Ellen tells Sawyer that she has grown so much that she hardly recognized her. She asks how she knows her dad and Ellen says that she used to work with him. She asks Sawyer if her mother is there and she looks sad. She asks if she wants to see her art and Ellen says she’d love to.

A teen runs up to Brian and tells him it’s Jake and that he has to come quick. Brian finds Jake beaten and bruised. Jake hugs him and starts to cry. Maria is joking saying too little too late and that his Dad should have given Jake boxing lessons. Kramer says he got up and sometimes that’s enough. Maria asks if he relates to the kid. She says that nice guys don’t usually find themselves in this line of work. He tells her it’s none of her business.

Ellen asks Sawyer about her mother again and Sawyer says that her mommy is sick. Ellen tells her that she’s sure the doctors will help her get better. Sawyer asks her how she knows and she says that’s what doctors do. Sawyer says they’ve been trying and Ellen asks her if she knows which hospital her mommy is at and the girl cries. Ellen says she’s sure she’s going to be fine and asks her to draw a picture of her family.

The President is unhappy about the rumor that he’s changing doctors and says that he’s going to stay with Ellen. Creasy tells him that’s brave. Creasy then calls Duncan and tells him that it’s turned around and Duncan should get into politics because he’s quite good at it.
Duncan is at the Sanders’ house when he sees a guy looking into the window. He walks out the door and sees that it’s Boyd. Boyd thinks Duncan is Brian and asks to talk with him about Morgan.

Kramer walks into Sawyer’s school and says he’s looking for someone.

Boyd tells Duncan that he loves Morgan and tells him that he dropped out of high school but is working hard to turn his life around and can support Morgan if he needs to. Duncan lets him think that he’s her Dad and says that she’s in high school and about to be in college and too young for marriage. Boyd says that he loves her and Duncan tells him that he has guts and he respects that but to never go near Morgan again. Boyd leaves.

Sawyer finishes the picture of her family as Kramer is walking down the hall toward them. Ellen asks what she’s drawn on Duncan – she asks if it’s his heart. Sawyer tells her it’s a badge and says her daddy works for the F.B.I.

Ellen walks out of the school and barely misses Kramer. He looks back down the hall but doesn’t see her.

[11:09:15 PM] Rachel Rowan: The President’s wife walks in and chews him out for sticking with Ellen as his doctor. She asks him if it’s just about his image. Creasy walks out to let them talk in private.

Duncan tells Ellen that she’s about to get a call from the President and that he’s going to call her in for a meeting and will fire her. She asks him what to do. Duncan says to convince the President to change his mind and more importantly to convince his wife. Ellen goes to meet with the President. Creasy thanks her for saving the President’s life. She says she was just doing her job. The President’s wife walks in and starts talking about the assassination of President Garfield under the guise of discussing a painting. The President comes in.

Brian asks if Jake is okay and wants to know what happened. Jake tells him he doesn’t want to talk about it and says that it was just some kid. He says it was over the “beer” money and that he tried to tell him it was a big deal. He runs out of the room with Brian calling after him. Kramer watches this.

Maria asks Duncan what Kramer’s deal is. He says he’s someone he can count on but Maria says that he’s an amateur and that he’ll crack under the pressure. Duncan says Kramer will do fine.

The President tells Ellen that he’s switching to a doctor at Walter Reid but tells her she will tell the press that it was her decision. Ellen agrees but then tells him that he’s mistaking a huge mistake and that the reason he should stick with her is because she saved his life before. She says she’s the best surgeon in her field and that if she were the wife of the President she would want the best surgeon to be operating on her husband and that’s her.

Creasy tells Duncan that they’re back on track with Ellen and that it wasn’t his idea to take him out. He says it came from higher up in the chain. He asks if he believes him and Duncan says “not for a second.”

Morgan walks in and asks Brian why he had to be such a jerk. She talked with Boyd and he told her what happened. Brian asks who Boyd is and she walks away disgusted.

Ellen asks Jake if he’s okay. She gives him a kiss and a hug and he cries a little bit.

Kramer drives out to find Niko and asks him if he can buy some weed. Niko asks him if he’s a cop and he says no but that he heard about him through a friend. He asks who is friend is and he says Jake then punches NIko in the face and gives him a major beat down. He says to stay away from Jake, throws some money at him and says that Jake works for him now. Maria sees it all go down.

Ellen whispers to Brian that she found out Duncan is an FBI agent. He asks how she found out and she said she snuck out when she was supposed to be in surgery. He asks if she can do it again and she says she thinks so but asks why. Brian says they’re going to escape and that Duncan and his team can’t watch them all. Ellen says no – that she won’t do it. Brian says she knows he loves her and she says yes. He tells her that he’s been having an affair with Samantha. She starts to cry and asks why he’s telling her this. He says because he wants to do the right thing for her and the kids. He says he can stay behind to be a decoy so they can get away. He asks her to please let him help them escape. She’s at a loss for words.

THE END!
