Tonight on Bravo docu-series I DREAM OF NENE: THE WEDDING debuts with its series premiere called, “Remix of Love.” The new show features the nuptials of former spouses NeNe and Gregg Leakes. Fans have gotten up close and personal with the couple during The Real Housewives of Atlanta, watching their happy marriage, devastating divorce, and romantic reconnection. The stars align as the Leakes are ready to tie the knot once again in an extravagant wedding fit for a larger-than-life personality like NeNe.
On tonight’s show NeNe and Gregg are engaged…again. After 15 years of marriage and a divorce, they are talking a second stroll down the aisle. NeNe has grand plans for her over-the-top fantasy wedding, but first she wants to make sure they aren’t dragging any issues from the past into their future. Before they can proceed, NeNe has a few bones to pick: getting a prenup and mending family relationships, which won’t be an easy task when Gregg is hesitant to participate.

Okay, I get it. If you are a regular on any of Bravo’s real housewives shows and you have half of a personality then you’ll inevitably be offered a spin off show. That doesn’t mean that half of the shows should ever exist, but they will anyway for at least a season. That said, tonight I’m struggling to understand why I’m watching an entire hour of NeNe Leakes on I Dream of NeNe The wedding. I mean, put NeNe in with a batch of Atlanta Housewives and she is as entertaining as hell, but on her own she is boring.
In case you don’t already know NeNe is remarrying Greg, the man she divorced a few years ago and this show is all about these two planning the wedding and ironing out details. NeNe is caught negotiating a prenup now that she has money and more importantly she’s trying to get the family all on the same page. Apparently Greg’s 5 adult kids think that he bailed on them in favor of stripper NeNe years ago. She wants them to have a relationship with their dad and for everyone to stop blaming her for Greg leaving his first wife.
That issue is heavy enough for NeNe to take it in to couples counseling. They recruited Dr. Jeff who pops up on talk shows and reality shows left and right to help them to communicate better. Dr. Jeff starts calling Greg on his BS and he gets totally defensive. NeNe thinks that everything that Greg has bottled up is coming out in this session and she is demanding that he fix his family. She believes that Greg has purposely kept his adult kids separate from NeNe and their son together.
