What goes around, comes around. Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder didn’t encourage good karma when they reportedly sneaked around Derek Hough’s back when Nina was still dating Derek. According to all the reports, Nina and Ian were still technically ‘friends with benefits’ while Nina was officially ‘dating’ Derek. Now that Nina and Ian are officially back together [or as official as an E! Online announcement gets] and hooking up again, that means there had to be some kernel of truth to the FWB rumors, right?
Well, whether there is or not, Derek Hough certainly believes there is. Sources claim that Derek is furious and humiliated that Nina was going around behind his back and hooking up with Nina. He was under the impression that he and Nina were exclusive, and I’m sure that was the impression she gave him. After all, several tabloids gave ‘exclusive’ confirmations on Derek dating Nina, and they did everything the ‘official’ way. However, it was just not meant to be.
In the end, they broke up, probably because Derek found out about Nina and Ian. That might also be one of the reasons Nina’s friendship with Julianne Hough seems strained. When a friend cheats on a friend’s brother, that friendship might not stay a friendship.
