Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have seemingly been in a back-and-forth battle of leaked media messages, if all these reports have anything to say about it. I don’t know if everybody’s reading too much into every move that Nina and Ian make, or whether the ex-couple is actually trying to play mind games with each other.
If they are, then Ian’s latest move was releasing a bunch of new photoshoot images of him half-naked in a bathtub. Definitely steamy, and could definitely be a ploy for Fifty Shades of Grey, but it could just as easily be a message to his dear ex-girlfriend.

Is he trying to show her what she’s missing? Sure, sure, that’s a possibility. Is he trying to prove that he’s over her? There are so many things to be derived from these photos and their timing, but the real question is – will Nina even see them?
We don’t know if she’s staying off the Internet right now, considering that she’s currently shooting a movie. No doubt, her publicist sends her reports and rumors directly relating to her, but do you think she gets constant updates on Ian on her phone? I’ve known of celebrities in Hollywood that keep constant tabs on their ex-boyfriends after breakups, but I’d like to think that Nina was more mature than that.
Really, none of us are going to get any concrete answers until Nina and Ian are back in Atlanta to film the next season of the Vampire Diaries. Until then, it will be speculation and rumors, and speculation regarding rumors.
